Jenni Frencham (jennifrencham) Sharon Draper won the Edwards Award this year. I have to admit I haven't read any of her novels yet, but I have all six of the challenge novels sitting on my desk, ready to be tackled starting this weekend.

Lucie | 14 comments I had been meaning to read some Sharon Draper titles, so I was very happy to see her win the Edwards award and thus be included in the challenge!

I found the writing to be a little stiff in this one but still liked it. I totally understand why the trilogy is so popular - the different voices and formats keep you engaged, and it would be very moving to consider all these points of view as a high schooler.

Sarah I read this when I was a senior in high school and remember feeling very moved. At the time, I thought anyone who was caught driving drunk should have to read it.

Connie Scharre (cscharre) | 25 comments I just finished Tiger and I finally got around to seeing all these comments about how everyone put off reading Draper before this challenge. Well, if you haven't read Jericho than you have missed one of the best books. As of a Tiger, I knew how this would end 50 pages before the end, however, the ending with the letters was brilliant. Draper must have spent a great deal of time researching grief counsellors. What a great ending.
