Breasts and Eggs
question
Was I the only one who thought the protagonist was a lesbian and that the novel was going to be about that discovery?

* The scene in the onsen.
* The gifted SCISSORS.
* The relationship with the editor.
Please tell me I was not the only one.

She's definitely not straight or allo, her description of certain female characters definitely leaves room for interpretation towards aesthetical attraction.
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT also she's definitely on the asexual spectrum
honestly, that's why i wanted miss kawakami to give some more focus on yamagu, the tomboy from the onsen scene. when she mentioned how natsuko would lick yamagu's fingers clean of cake batter, yamagu having short hair and challenging their male classmates to arm wrestling. like woah. yamagu was such a good opportunity to further explore that aspect of female sexuality.
That's what I thought when she began to have a closer relationship with the other author, they seemed like such a good fit for each other.
Sorry but that wasn't one of my takeaways. But I adored this female centric book.
When you put it that way, it makes sense. Though it didn't really cross my mind while I was reading the book. I just thought of her as someone too idealistic, who was dissapointed by the boring world of real-life dating.
Yes that's what I thought! She seemed to be on the asexual spectrum
