Highly recommending Northern Spy to anyone who hasn’t read it but I have so idk what I’ll be reading
I don’t know that “Any Way the Wind Blows” is *exactly* a direction, but it fits the spirit if not the letter of the law, and it’s a great book. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli is fantastic. Also, We All Fall Down by Natalie D. Richards (YA thriller) and Upside-Down Magic by Lauren Myracle (MG fantasy) are fun.
Going with another book that's been on my want to read list for probably 8 years, if not more, and that's East. I've heard good things about it, so I'm excited to read it.
My options: Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds
North Child by Edith Pattou
The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell
Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reed
On The Come Up by Angie Thomas
Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire
I hope to read When Can We Go Back to America? by Susan H. Kamei and Yonder by Jabari Asim. I feel like yonder counts
