Don’t come to me crying for something that’s your fault.
Arielle: [ah-ree-ELL] "lion"
Sienna: [see-ENN-uh] "deep red"
Carlien: [CARL-yen] "warrior"
If there aren’t any choices left, you make one.
Age: 27
Date of Birth: December 1
Zodiac: Sagittarius
Oh, now I’m curious.
Gender: female, she/her
Orientation: demi-biromantic, gray-pansexual
Keep talking and see where that gets you.
Appearance: Arielle has a sheet of russet hair, a vivid shade between auburn and chestnut brown. It falls to just above her waistline in thick, straight strands.
Her eyes are a dark shade of hazel, a deep brown that flashes green or gold depending on the light. They’re slightly angled, threatening. They catch your gaze and hold it. Just looking at her, her eyes seem flat, bored. Impossible to read, but probing - like she can stare straight into you and read your thoughts. Her glare is fierce and vicious, impossible to look away from but terrifying to face.
She has the build of a dancer, lean and lithe, but muscular in a deceitful way - you don’t quite realize how strong she is until you see her in action. She is short, 5’3, but has a commanding presence about her that warns you not to underestimate her based on size.
Her skin is a pale bronze-like gold, a shade that appears like a faded tan - like she used to be tanner than she currently is. Her body is covered in scars, particularly her arms and legs, with one particularly stark one across her face. She has faint freckles on her shoulders and some small ones on her face, but they’re not obvious.
Distinguishing Features
➢Scars - one very obvious scar across her face, from her right cheekbone to her jawline on the left side; then there are the dozens scattered over the rest of her body. She also has stretch marks on her inner thighs, which are visible when she wears shorts (not workout shorts though because those are long)
➢Tattoos - none, she’s considered getting one a few times but has always decided against it. She’s never been able to find something she’d want on her skin permanently.
➢Piercings - her ears are pierced; even though she doesn’t wear earrings in them anymore, she still keeps the lobes open with a needle
➢Noticeable Trait - the scar across her face
Physical Information:
➢Strongest Sense - vision or hearing, it depends on the situation and what she’s done with her ability lately. She can use her ability to alter her perception, so her senses can change, but it’s generally vision or hearing.
➢Agility (1 → 10) - 8; her reflexes are excellent and she’s very graceful. She is also flexible, not contortionist level but enough that she can maneuver through most things without much problem
➢Speed (1 → 10) - 8; her speed depends on her ability and how she’s using it, but in natural human form she’s still scarily fast. Her stamina is great but her sprinting prowess is greater.
➢Strength (1 → 10) - 9; again, it depends on her ability, but in human form she’s incredibly strong. Do not underestimate Arielle’s physical power. She doesn’t seem like much (well, that’s a lie) but she’s much more powerful than you’d think.
➢Voice - she doesn’t speak loudly and isn’t much of a yeller. There’s a bit of a dry edge to her tone when she speaks, more prominent when she’s sarcastic. When her voice goes very quiet, that’s when you know you’re fucked (:
➢Noticeable Trait - she seems very obviously poised. Every movement is predatory, even the way she stands. Her posture just screams control, and the way she walks is closer to a predatory prowl.
Physical Weaknesses:
➢neck - she can handle blows to pretty much any other body part, but her neck is the most vulnerable. Not because she doesn’t protect it but because it’s just so much worse when she can’t.
➢left ear - her hearing is worse out of her left ear, potentially because of all the hits she took on that side of the head when she was little or as a repercussion of her ability. It’s not as if she's half-deaf, she just has less keen sense from that side and will sometimes hear a ringing noise for no reason.
➢manufactured events - things like being buried or being electrocuted aren’t natural environments, and they’re not the kind of thing she’s trained for, so she’s ill-prepared for unnatural occurrences.
Dress Style: nothing specific, it depends on her mood. Arielle primarily sticks to one uniform - workout leggings or sweatpants, a crop top and maybe a sweatshirt. It’s very mobile and easy to shift within, while also looking like she put an amount of effort into getting dressed.
If, for some reason, she has a reason not to wear training clothes, Arielle’s clothing is generally kind of random but stylish. She will wear a mini pencil skirt, a blazer, cargo pants, or a bomber jacket. She likes her looks to be put-together, but she’s not all that vain about it and just likes having a lot of options.
Somewhat surprisingly, she doesn’t always wear weapons, since she can pull out claws anytime - though it’s very common to see her with a revolver at either hip, too. She also favors a dragon necklace with hidden blades in the wings and tail.
Arielle’s nails are literally always painted, and the pattern changes at least once every week. She can’t go without painting them and re-painting them out of boredom. She usually wears training boots (like combat boots, but lighter and more flexible) or her white-and-gold sneakers.
Please. You can do better than that.
Personality: Arielle is a demon. Her students are terrified of her, and quite rightly.
She’s almost sadistic with how she treats them - not that she enjoys their pain, but she doesn’t feel remorse for it. She will push her students to and past their limits without blinking, will force them through training sessions with a brutal coldness. She doesn’t shy away from making them hurt if it gets her point across. She delivers her lessons like blows from a knife - sharp, precise and lasting. Her classes are merciless and unrelenting.
Arielle is dangerously intelligent. She can take stock of a situation within seconds and is incredibly resourceful, using whatever is at her disposal to serve her purpose. She doesn’t really care what she uses - people, words, weapons. She takes full advantage of what she has.
She is an amazing liar. She can spin stories and details with breathtaking ease, and maintains those lies just as easily. Good luck trying to analyze her, because before you know it she’ll be the one interrogating you, and that won’t turn out well.
Arielle’s not at all afraid to manipulate others and doesn’t feel much guilt for it, if any. She won’t hesitate to bait, lie or intimidate in order to get her students to do what she wants them to. It’s a particularly dangerous skill of hers. She knows how to push someone’s buttons, make them angry or afraid or proud - how to make them feel the way she wants them to. She can coax things out of people without batting an eye.
Strangely enough, she can also be bluntly honest. She says what she believes without a care for how it comes across. People deserve to hear the truth, in her opinion, and she doesn’t see a point in trying to make it sound pleasant. She doesn’t pick and choose her words to make things nicer. She picks words that get her message through.
While much of what she does could be described as calculated, she’s not really a planning kind of person. She decides things in the moment, changes her mind easily, and is unnervingly unpredictable.
It all depends on her mood, which is probably the most unpredictable factor. Arielle gets bored easily. She finds things entertaining but can abandon them as soon as her attention moves elsewhere. When she does focus on things, it’s all of her focus - laser-honed right on her target. But she doesn’t have much patience for most things. It’s not that she forgets about them, it’s just that she stops caring.
This makes her impatient, prone to changing her mind on things without much of a reason for it, expecting everything else to keep up with the pace of her attention. She moves from one thing to another with shocking speed. She doesn’t wait for anyone else to catch up, which can lead to misunderstandings and general confusion.
That’s not to say that she’s indecisive. Quite the opposite, actually. She fixates on things quickly, almost immediately, and can plot the best course of action from there. She can improvise on a moment-to-moment basis, changing her plans effortlessly.
Her goals, however, don’t change as easily. Arielle resists ever altering her goals, because it feels like giving up. And that is the one thing she will never let herself do - nor her students. Surrender is never an option.
She can be condescending, mainly because she holds everything to such a high standard. She can come across as arrogant or impractical to people, because she expects so much. She knows what it takes to get to a high level, and that’s what she wants for her students.
The thing with Arielle is she has a hard time knowing when she’s taken things too far. She respects people’s boundaries - usually - but doesn’t have a great sense of knowing when to push. Unless you tell her she’s done something hurtful (well, beyond the norm of hurtful), she won’t acknowledge it, mostly because she won’t realize what she’s done.
Once she recognizes that what she did was wrong, Arielle will try to make amends, though she doesn’t particularly like apologizing. Partly because she doesn’t like admitting to others that she made a mistake, and partly because she rarely feels actual remorse for her actions - she doesn’t see the point of apologizing if it’s not really genuine. But she will make sure it doesn’t happen again.
See, Arielle does not enjoy hurting others. She never wanted to be an assassin. She’s not actually sadistic, though she might come across as such to people who don’t know her well. She has morals, and she sticks to them, and she feels remorse when they’re broken. But Arielle’s moral code differs from the general set expectation. She knows what’s right and wrong, it’s just not the same as everyone else’s.
For example, manipulation isn’t something she considers bad so much as necessary, or - more frequently - unintentional. She doesn’t really try to be manipulative. It just happens. That’s how she works with people - she gets them to do what she wants. She doesn’t consciously think about how to coerce them, she just does it. If she wants something from someone, she’ll do what she needs to achieve that.
She knows that killing is bad, and refuses to do it (except for the times that she was made to do so, as an assassin and all). And she knows there are things you can’t come back from. But she also doesn’t see hurting others as morally “wrong” - people heal. As long as the damage isn’t permanent, and the repercussions aren’t bad, then it shouldn’t be too big a deal. Half the time, it’s also not intentional. She doesn’t go out of her way to hurt people.
Not that she really cares what other people think. Arielle doesn’t try to connect to other people. She knows them well enough to have them on her side, should things ever come to that - whether through manipulation, or because they have a somewhat established relationship. But she doesn’t see a need to really connect, to form friendships. They’re just more points of exploitation, of weakness, and she’s learned the hard way that there’s no way to survive while depending on others.
Arielle, if you couldn’t tell, is a passionate person. She has her own opinions about things and goes forward with them. She feels very strongly. But she doesn’t act on her emotions, because she knows it’s not a smart idea - acting impulsively or making decisions based on feelings is different from acting on instinct. She makes it a priority to think through things logically rather than listen to her emotions.
Generally, it’s hard to read her. Her face never gives anything away. She doesn’t try to hide her emotions, exactly - though she does have a great poker face. She doesn’t care about other people’s opinions, or how they judge her reactions. She just does it to guard herself, to keep others from reading her too well - mainly on reflex from extensive interrogation training. Also, she’s just naturally not someone who shares how she feels.
People get the impression that Arielle is cold, unfeeling, or far more cruel than she actually is. They assume she doesn’t care, because she doesn’t respond with the same emotion or understanding that they’ve grown accustomed to expect. This is all the effect of her ASPD. Add her lack of conventional reaction to her constantly-neutral expression, and people receive the illusion that she just doesn’t feel emotions.
What she cares most about is her students. She cares for them in her own way - she wants them to be strong and independent, and never have to worry about defending themselves. It’s her own way of teaching them to survive. Her cruelty, her manipulation - it’s just how she makes them stronger. She’s willing to put them through the pain if it ensures they can get through everything else. Molding them, hurting them, is how she cares.
In a way, Arielle is fiercely protective of her students - not that anyone can tell. If one of them is struggling, she takes it upon herself to find out why, and fix it. It’s why she’s so brutal. They need to know what they’re getting wrong, and she’s not going to sugarcoat it.
But God forbid anyone else come for her students, because they are hers alone.
Mental Information:
➢diagnosed with ASPD (antisocial personality disorder). People with ASPD have low empathy and remorse levels as well as a disregard or altered perception of social norms.
Traits:
➢Personality Type - ENTJ; the Commander. Commanders are efficient, strong-willed and charismatic, authoritative and impatient. They tend to be emotionally insensitive, choosing to prioritize management over feelings. They’re bold and driven, placing emphasis on growth and high standards.
➢Hogwarts House - Ravenclaw at her core, but her behavior seems much more Slytherin. Arielle is intelligent and resourceful, and her temperamental mindset is much more fitted to Ravenclaw. She’s really not that ambitious or cunning, more improvisational. Her actions just seem like it.
➢Primary Emotion - boredom, honestly. Due to her ASPD, Arielle finds herself bored very often and her mood changes easily because of it. She’s constantly trying to find something else to interest her. She’s apathetic, not in that she doesn’t care about anything, but things just stop mattering very quickly in her eyes.
➢Temper (1 → 10) - 6, she’s not actually that easily aggravated. It’s just that she acts aggressive pretty often, so people assume she’s an angry person. However, she doesn’t really get set off unless something really just rubs her the wrong way. If that happens…just pray that it doesn’t.
➢Mental Stability (1 → 10) - 8, she’s pretty traumatized but has pretty good methods of dealing with it and has learned not to lash out badly. She’s good at keeping herself under control and breakdowns are unforeseeable.
Go ahead. Hate me.
Likes: playing guitar, Twix, TV shows (especially period dramas, but it doesn’t matter that much to her), painting her nails, nice clothes, fancy food, pretzels, anything that she finds interesting (very vague but she likes being immersed in some fascinating new subject)
Favorites:
➢Color - gold
➢Animal - tigers and foxes
➢Food - Twix (sweet) or pasta (savory)
➢Bubble Tea Order - she doesn’t have a specific one, she just goes with whatever she feels like
➢Thing To Do - painting her nails, playing guitar, or training with a student
Dislikes: not being able to do something, students who don’t try, feeling useless, people not doing what she wants them to, foods that are too salty, not having a choice in something, being bored, self-important people, passivity, not getting to the point, long-running plans, talking about her emotions because no
Least Favorites:
➢Color - purple
➢Food - grapes, anything that’s overly salty
➢Thing To Do - just…doing nothing. She hates just sitting with no activity. Also talking to people about emotions because she doesn’t really understand them and doesn’t care to try.
I hope you understand the outcome of this.
History: [Trigger Warnings for abuse and kidnapping]
Arielle grew up with her father in a small town near the city. She never knew her mother - she only asked twice, and her father went into a rage both times. The only information she could glean was that she had “gone” soon after Arielle’s first birthday. Whether she left of her own volition or died somehow wasn’t clear.
Arielle’s father didn’t make much - he never made much of an effort at his low-income job, never mind trying to find a better one to support them. They hadn’t had a lot in the first place, but a few years after her mother’s disappearance they were forced to move to “the wrong side of town.” The neighborhood was rougher, and their home was the bottom floor of an old condo.
She never knew, coming home from school, if they had anything in the kitchen for dinner, or if they could afford the electricity needed to cook it. She also never knew what mood her father was in - he was, by turns, abusive and neglectful. She would be either left alone and ignored for days or weeks on end, or screamed at and cursed and hit every night for days. In short, Arielle’s living situation was less than ideal.
She grew up bitter and lost, having no one to give her the care she needed. Almost all of her classmates at school had real families, real lives outside of a dark home and an evil father. They all made connections with everyone else, and for some reason they never seemed to get in trouble as much as Arielle did. And they all avoided her. She could see the looks in the hallways, could hear the whispers that followed.
She didn’t understand that threatening people to be her friend wasn’t right, and that it wasn’t a replacement for the relationships they all had. She didn’t see why it was so wrong of her to get into fights and blatantly disobey her teachers. She didn’t feel bad about it, so why was it wrong?
This was, of course, due to conduct disorder - a beginning sign of ASPD, which can only be diagnosed after the age of 18. She only knew that something was wrong in her life, whether it was her, her father, or everyone else. Everything else.
Why wasn’t her father a real father? He was supposed to be loving and strict. He was supposed to take care of her. He was supposed to love her.
Why weren’t her friends real friends? Her classmates were supposed to be understanding and fun. They were supposed to hang out. They were supposed to accept her the way everyone else did to each other.
One of the only things that helped was guitar. The only useful thing she’d learned at school, as far as she was concerned. She didn’t have to worry about people, or home, or food when she played. She just had to focus on the notes and the sounds. Elementary school music class is the only remotely good thing she can think of, looking back.
Her abilities started developing around age seven - little things like being able to see in the dark, which she didn’t quite realize was unnatural.
Things got worse as she got older - mainly because her father got worse. Finally, one night when she was around ten, he flew into a rage. Not one particularly bad, but one of the worse ones. He stormed toward Arielle, screaming that she was a burden and a useless shit, grabbing her with one hand as the other raised to hit her.
She lost control. She’s still not particularly sure why. Maybe her powers couldn’t remain hidden any longer. Maybe she was sick of being thrown around depending how shitty her father felt.
In any case, she lashed out. Quite literally. Her hand slashed forward, almost of its own accord, her fingernails no longer fingernails but tiger claws. Luckily - or maybe not so luckily - she didn’t hurt her father too badly. Her claws only met his arms, and not deep enough to cause permanent damage.
After that, both she and her father knew there was something wrong. He became more aggressive, convinced she was a demon or monster or something. Whatever she was, he didn’t know what to do but hurt her more. The beatings increased in frequency.
Hence the scar across Arielle’s face, courtesy of a plate thrown across the room.
Arielle began running away from home. Or rather, avoiding it to an extreme. Instead of returning from school, she lived on the city streets for days at a time, fending for herself. She was used to doing that.
She survived by stealing, taking food and bare essentials from small stores and stands, pickpocketing along the crowded sidewalks. She became another thief in the city, sleeping wherever she could find, only attending school if she happened to be returning for a day or two - she returned every three or four days, though she’s still not sure why. Her “home” merely became another place for her to sleep, usually only if she couldn’t find anywhere else in the city.
There were several close brushes with storeowners and her father, but life became marginally more manageable - or it would have, if her powers hadn’t kept making their appearances. She couldn’t control it, how her fingers became talons when she was cornered, how she grew venomous fangs when confronted in close quarters. It was erratic, sometimes too obvious.
That’s how Arielle was found by the Force of Echoes. It had been a particularly bad week - she hadn’t been home in eight days and had spent nights in hiding. Suddenly, as she made her way out of an alley to search for someone to pickpocket or a store to steal from, a man brushed past her.
She felt her legs changing, about to turn into those of a deer. About to, because she collapsed right then.
Her ability had sensed the danger and tried to respond to it, but the man had already stuck her with a syringe and injected some kind of tranquilizer into her neck. She was unconscious as the man dragged her body back into the alley, and she was unconscious the whole transport ride to the Force of Echoes Compound.
Training with the Force was hell, naturally. Especially for the first year, as she recovered and came to terms with where she’d been taken. The new environment was jarring. She had a lot of trouble adjusting. Partly because she didn’t really care for authority - teachers were still teachers, and she didn’t see why she had to respect or obey them. Why did she have to do what they said?
She also just didn’t want to learn what they had to teach her. She didn’t want to be an assassin - she didn’t want to kill people. And she didn’t care about world domination or whatever the Force was focused on. She cared about being safe and fed.
But she was warned that if she kept resisting, she would be thrown out of the Force. And she knew that if she was abandoned, she would starve, or be caught, or lose control of her ability again - she’d be forced to live the way she had before. She could only survive for so long.
So she made herself adjust. The training itself wasn’t that bad. She was accustomed to physical blows and hurtful words that were much worse than the criticism she received, and her “classmates” were now blatantly labeled competition. She didn’t have to worry about rules or making friends or her father. She didn’t have to worry about supplies or finding enough to eat. The most important thing was training, winning and control. She could learn that.
So she trained. She fought to be the best, to get over her fear of being hit. To learn strategy, interrogation, combat and espionage and everything else that would keep her at the top. Because she had to be at the top - if she wasn’t, that meant she was failing, and then what? She couldn’t let herself drop out of the Force. She made herself conform to the expectations, made herself a part of the organization.
The killing, she did her best to avoid for as long as possible. Is she still somewhat bitter about “giving in” to what the Force wanted her to do? Sure. But she didn’t have much of a choice. And she’s learned to compartmentalize her hate for it.
She was thrilled when she found an opportunity to escape that job. The Force was willing to take her on as a trainer - if she wanted the position. It meant less prestige, less esteem, compared to being sent out on missions. But she didn’t care. She didn’t need the praise and excitement, just a secure spot within the Force. And she wanted to help her students, to ensure that they had that same security. Even if it meant that they would be the assassins. Again, more adaptation to survive.
Darkest Moment - the days just before she left home. She was hungry and desperate and constantly living in fear. Getting away from that gave her a sort of freedom, even though she was much more lost and still in danger.
Say that again. I dare you.
Relationships:
➢Mother - nonexistent, her mother either left or died and Arielle never knew her. She sees her mother as the reason she exists, but there’s no love. Just a cold regard for the facts.
➢Father - a shitshow. She never really had love for her father
➢Friends - what friends? (that’s a lie, she does actually have friends, but they’re not close and while she cares about them, it’s not a very high level of caring. Enough to understand them more than other people, which is really what counts.)
➢Rivals - she doesn’t have any personal rivalries, but God help anyone who opposes her. She will not hesitate to tear them down, lie to them, hurt them, scare them off. Getting in her way is not an option, and if you think it is, you’re absolutely fucked.
➢Students - Like I said before, she actually cares for her students. But their relationships are…complicated, mostly because they all regard Arielle as a fucking menace and the cause of all suffering. Which, to be fair, isn’t all that inaccurate.
She doesn’t go out of her way to avoid fostering that care. Aside from doing her job and everything. She doesn’t seek out friendship with her students and does virtually nothing to show her care, mainly because her teaching is how she cares. She doesn’t try to connect, doesn’t ask questions, doesn’t demonstrate interest.
But. Arielle’s students really matter to her, and having her as a mentor means having a source of protection and support that’s almost impossible to detect but still ever-present. If a student can get over their fear, bitterness and anger, and seek out a connection with Arielle themself, they’ll find her surprisingly welcoming. Past the constant mask of aggression and lethality, the deceit and criticism and condescension, Arielle is a source of support.
In fact, students don’t always have to do all the work. If she happens to notice one of her students struggling, whether mentally or physically, she’ll take the time to help them - albeit in her own style. A student struggling to win fights will find themselves stuck in an extra hour or two of training. A student struggling with an eating disorder will receive increased monitoring, some manipulative comments about their eating habits, and eventually direct confrontation.
She tries to adjust her teaching style to each student, whether that means more or less leniency, direct one-on-one lessons, or working in hands-on experience. After one of her first students came to her in tears, seeming broken down and troubled, she’s made it a point to understand which of her students need softer treatment and a gentler touch. That’s one of the few things Arielle will apologize for - one of the only things she feels remorse about. She never wants to break her students, only to build them up stronger.
Arielle sees the potential in her students and goes out of her way to grow that potential. If it means being cruel and harsh, then that’s what it means - though she makes it a priority not to cross the line. She’ll never back down on their behalf.
Tells:
➢anger - her face looks blank. Not neutral or bored like she usually does. Absolutely blank, no emotion, no feeling, no life whatsoever. Her voice goes eerily quiet and flat, making you strain to hear what she has to say. She doesn’t tense, but her body goes completely still, like a predator sensing prey.
➢nervousness - this is where you see the tension, which makes her nervousness look a lot more like anger than her actual anger does. She glares and clenches her jaw slightly.
➢fear - her behavior seems more impulsive than usual, and she’s more guarded - constantly checking the exits, examining everyone just a bit more than usual. She moves more quickly.
Ability Information:
Ability: natural adaptation; she can shapeshift parts of her body depending on the environment - for example, wolf eyes at night to see in the dark, tiger claws when she’s without weapons in a fight.
➢Ability Strengths - she can handle almost any environment, because she can adapt to many situations. There are also a few loopholes to the rules of her ability, making its uses flexible. It’s incredibly useful in combat as well as practical situations; it can be utilized in close contact or to aid ranged combat. It also helps enhance strength, speed, range and sensory perception.
➢Ability Limitations - the ability almost always depends on her environment. She cannot just pull it out at random. If she wants her arms to turn into wings, she needs to be at a height. However, some of those attributes are looser. She can shift her ears into fox ears in order to hear better without having to be deafened beforehand.
She cannot shift multiple parts of her body at once - her limit is two small shifts, like claws and cat eyes at once. She cannot turn her arms into wings and legs into deer hooves. It takes too much energy. She can change sections of skin, like armor, but not all over her body.
Shifting is not instantaneous unless it’s required, in which case it drains more energy. If she wants eyes that can see in the dark, it will take a few seconds for her eyes to “adjust”. If she wants claws, the claws have to “grow” (albeit at a much faster rate than natural). However, if she needs wings while falling, those will be immediate - but the drawbacks will be much more severe.
Overuse results in body aches and soreness, skin rash (irritation depends on how much she’s used the ability), involuntary movements (usually small twitches) and upset stomach.
➢Ability Weaknesses - the ability mainly depends on self-defense and environment. She also retains injuries from shifted parts. If her legs were deer hooves and they got scratched, her human legs would have those same scratches once she shifted back. Her ability is also not instantaneous unless the situation requires it.
➢Ability Control (1 → 10) - 9, she’s not at total mastery, but she’s just about there. At first, she didn’t know what was happening to her body and therefore had no control over how she changed. Now, she can change at will and her shifts are no longer all that affected by her emotions. If she does happen to lose control, her shifts are more in tune with her emotions and will be much less volatile. A huge slip of temper for her is like accidentally sprouting claws for a second.
➢Burnout - she can only hold shifts for a few hours at most, depending on how big they are. The longest she’s kept claws is the most part of a day, breakfast till dinner, and she was paralyzed for the next day. Burnout results in unconsciousness and paralysis.
Weapons of Choice: double revolver pistols
Strengths:
➢combat - mostly due to her training, but partly because her ability. Arielle is an excellent fighter (she’s a retired assassin and an instructor for assassins-in-training, so that’s to be expected). She’s also very stealthy from her days of being a thief.
➢deceit - she’s an excellent liar. She can tell a lie without blinking, quite literally. It’s usually the guilt or unease that causes someone to shift when they lie. She doesn’t see lying as bad or wrong (one of those moral things because of her ASPD), so she doesn’t feel any discomfort in deceiving people, which eliminates most physical tells.
➢manipulation - again, manipulation isn’t really that bad to her. For a while it was necessary. It comes easily to her, and she just understands what makes people likely to do what she wants. Not because she knows psychology or is good at analyzing people’s emotions.
➢adaptation - her ability allows her to adapt to almost any natural environment, and her training does the rest of the work. She’s good at observing her situations and molding herself to whatever fits.
➢resourcefulness - Arielle works with whatever she has on hand. She knows what it’s like to have to scrounge for supplies, which gives her a keen sense of how she can use or misuse whatever is in her surroundings to give her an advantage. She’s quick to make decisions on the spot.
➢stubbornness - she never lets herself surrender. If she did, she’d have died a long time ago somewhere in the city.
➢independence - she doesn’t trust other people to work with her. She was never good at making friends, and after her father she doesn’t trust people to fulfill the roles they’re supposed to. Making attachments just causes unnecessary complications in her life.
Greatest Strength - efficiency
Weaknesses:
➢lack of empathy - not to say ASPD is at all a weakness or a bad thing, but it has caused problems with her teaching style because she just didn’t understand what her student was feeling. It’s just hard for her to relate to other people emotionally, which can cause problems with communication and general understanding.
➢lack of remorse - it’s harder for Arielle to learn from her mistakes, because she doesn’t feel bad about them so how exactly should she recognize that they’re mistakes? And when she just doesn’t care about the effects of her actions, why should she feel bad about what she did?
➢stubbornness - again, she doesn’t like giving up. And she has a hard time recognizing when she should. She doesn’t see surrender as a choice, and won’t allow herself to consider taking time off when she could be doing something productive or helpful. That’s how she survived, after all.
➢long-term planning - she doesn’t care for long, carefully thought-out plans. There’s no point in trying to predict that far into the future. It just wastes time. She’d rather go in with a basic concept of strategy and work her way from there.
➢impatience - Arielle hates being bored and she hates wasting time. She’d much rather be doing something that interests her, even if it’s just a passing activity. Why should she spend time waiting on something, doing nothing?
➢need for security - she lived by survival mode for so long. Any threat to her stability is something to worry about. She needs to be safe and remain safe, and she’s not all that concerned about what she does to make sure that happens.
➢impulsivity - she makes decisions in the spur of the moment and has trouble sticking to plans. Arielle doesn’t have the patience or the interest to stick to specific schedules. She decides what’s best on the spot and runs with it.
