Silver Screen Horror Novels discussion

Arguably, one of the best stories ever written by the master of horror. At the beginning, we are introduced to the Creeds, a loving young family moving into a new house in rural Maine. Once their cat (Church) is splattered in the road by a speeding truck, the mayhem and terror is off and running. There are some genuinely frightening moments in this book, and the 1989 film does a fantastic job at recreating the tale and giving it the fair treatment it deserves. The part were Zelda approaches the camera is to this day one of the most unsettling things I've ever seen in a movie. Her face will be with me forever, and that's not really a good thing! The book and movie are both a lesson in how horror should be created. Excellent!
