I like that quote and I find it true also in my own experience. Not for all paintings, more for Modern art. Sometimes at first I look at it and just don’t care for it. I think it’s boring, or looks like a child could do it, or whatever. But then the more I look at it, or the more I learn it’s history, the more I like and/or appreciate it and do wonder why I had my original thought. True observations by Gertrude Stein.
And I agree with Dirk, please put it in the original Art Lovers group if you haven’t already (I haven’t seen it, maybe I missed it) so more people can read it.
