What? A book with a nonwhite superhero? Really? I was happily surprised to find this book, and although it isn't on my library's shelves yet, it is on order now. Yay for diverse graphic novels!

I can't wait to get my hands on this one. It was just ordered (we couldn't order it through Ingram for so long) and is sitting somewhere in cataloging. The moment it's available, I'm yanking it.
I, too, loved this one! I can't wait to get it at my branch - I am positive it will be a hit. Kamala is the best superhero I have seen in awhile... reminiscent of Runaways, which I really enjoyed. I think the artist is the same. The story also reminds me of Spiderman, because of Kamala's awkwardness with her new talents, and the emphasis on family loyalty (even as she sneaks around!). What a great read.
Like everyone else I like the story of "the girl who doesn't look like a model is the superhero". But, I'm more interested in who The Inventor is more than anything.
Okay, loved this one so much. I've never been much of a superhero comic fan, but I'm actually going to continue with this story. Kamala is very real and relatable.
