January Challenge--I finished!

This book was fun and I liked the flash backs and flash forwards in time. may have been nice if there was a dual POV so we knew how Alex felt but it was a good read.

I would recommend this book! It was a cute read, and I enjoyed their adventures and their inside jokes. Sometimes their angst and misreading of situations was hard to view as an outsider who just wants to shake them, but that's what made it a book I had to sit and get through all at once.

Would you recommend this book? - Yes! This was a good read!

Recommend? Yes I would. This was a good rom com that I read really quickly.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Definitely! I really enjoyed this read. Cute quirky people in a deliciously frustrating slow burn romance. Not my main genre, but I was a sucker for this one!

I am not sure if I would recommend it. Easy read. Not my typical type of book. I don’t really go for romance. And I did find the main characters frustrating. I do see how this is a popular book and can appeal. So if someone was looking for an easy romance book, I might.

Author: Alex Michaelides
6.0/10 No, I wouldn’t recommend it.
The story is well-designed. I like that the reality entangles with artistic concepts in this story. But the expression drags on for quite a bit and it really undermines the tension.

I am not generally a romance fan, but I loved this book. It tugged at my heart and I totally enjoyed the ride. I woul recommend this book.

Author: Adam Silvera
Would you recommend this book? I would recommend it for those who like to read Young Adult books. I found the concept interesting, and I enjoyed the different points of view throughout the story. It was fun to read a book from my teenage daughter's bookshelf.

Author: T.J. Klune
Would you recommend this book?
Yes! I was worried it was overhyped but I ended up loving it.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes, I would. Not the usual fiction I would gravitate towards, but enjoyable. I read it within a couple of days and, although the ending was predictable, I enjoyed the quirky relationship between the two main characters. The structure took a little getting used to, but worked well in unravelling the connection between them.

Author: Marjane Satrapi
Would you recommend this book? Yes. It was an interesting look at Iran's recent history, which I know very little about. It also made me think a lot about both living under a repressive regime and what it's like when you leave that regime.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes! I took my time reading this book for a while, when I got about 30% of the way through I couldn't put it down! I am looking forward to her next release, I have yet to be disappointed!

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book: I would! I really enjoyed this book - Poppy and Alex had great chemistry together, and I really enjoyed the overall theme of finding your place in life. As someone who has suffered from a healthy dose of millennial ennui over the years, that really spoke to me.
My main criticisms were that I felt like the book didn’t establish early on what was keeping Poppy and Alex apart. I spent the first half of the book getting really frustrated that they wouldn’t just admit they liked each other. The other thing is that one of the main plot points is Poppy’s realisation that the thing she loves about travelling is the people she meets, but in the flashbacks they show very little of this. When she is shown interacting with people, it’s only for the purposes of advancing her relationship with Alex, but I was left wishing they’d shown more of her interacting with people just because she really loves people.

Would you recommend this book? - I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic comedies. I found myself imagining who would play Poppy and Alex in the movie. Overall, cute enjoyable read.

Author: Sally Thorne
Would you recommend this book? - Yes, yes, absolutely yes! I loved this book so much. I missed reading romance books so much and reading this reminded me what I missed. I was listening to the audiobook but it was really good that I wanted to read the ebook instead so I could linger on every word and scene! I really recommend this!

Author: Colleen Hoover
Would you recommend this book: Heck yes! This is the first book I've read in a long time that has kept me up all night so I could finish. It's not perfect, I can think of other ways it could have wrapped up but I'm not a writer! I rate books five stars when they consume me, bad parts and all. I was skeptical of this prompt. I've been trying to separate myself from what I "should" read and what I want to read. I feel like BookTok can blur those lines for me, but I'm glad I took a chance on this one. I will be reading more Colleen Hoover in the future.

Have you already watched the movie?

Would you recommend this book? Yes. It was a great read.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? It was alright, but I probably wouldn't recommend it. While the vacations were fun to read about, and the characters had good chemistry, I felt the majority of it was petty and any conflict could have been solved with one single honest conversation. The main character was selfish and annoying. Alex was great though.

Would you recommend this book?
Yes, it was a cute rom-com. Definitely not a heavy read but for anyone wanting a lighter read it was great.

They were all pretty short listens and entertaining. I think they are worth the listen. The "Black Stars" series so far has provided a unique approach to storytelling. My favorites so far are "The Visit" and "Black Pages". I wish these were developed more. I wanted more of the stories. The Keke Palmer story was entertaining. The animation and levels in her voice were really engaging.

I read this book simply to have a book I could read in one sitting and because I am trying to read more graphic novels. It was a good interpretation that was really simplified and hits the high points of the story. The illustrations were nice.

Would you recommend this book? I read People We Meet on Vacation last year and enjoyed it much more. This has been sitting half-read on my Kindle because I just couldn't get into it. I finally finished it when I saw it on display at the #booktok table at Barnes & Noble.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes. I'm not a fan of romance typically, but I did find this to be one I couldn't put down.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes! I really enjoy contemporary romance, so this was up my alley. What I did not like was the flip back and forth between flashbacks and current events for the majority of the book.

Author: Christina Lauren
Would you recommend this book? Yes. I rarely give romances more than 3 stars (even though I really enjoy them), and this one got 4 stars.

Author:Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Would you recommend this book? Yeah. It was a quick easy read. Very much a YA feel but I still enjoyed it.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? I would to my friends who I know like this genre. I enjoy a good rom-com, but the popular books tend to be pretty hit or miss for me. And this, for me, wasn't worth the hype. I just kept silently muttering to my book that they just need to get together already and end the book. But I know plenty of other people who will love it.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes, most definitely. Read this because it was the January Monthly Group Read. Was worried this book might be overhyped but I really enjoyed it. This is a nice and easy romance read.

Author: Colleen Hoover
Would you recommend this book? Yes, reluctantly. I loved to hate read this book. I hated so much about it, but since I feel so emotionally involved, I had to give it a solid 4 stars.

Author: Christelle Dabos
Would you recommend this book? YES! I don't think it's a masterpiece of the genre, but every book made me want to read more and more. I finished the saga in less than a week and even if I was not fully satisfied with the ending I have to admit that all four books made me feel warm and with a lot of love in my heart (sorry, i'm not english and I really don't know how to put it in words!)

Author: Tash Skilton, Sarvenaz Tash
Would you recommend this book? Yes! It was pretty good, and I love Shop Around the Corner/You've Got Mail.

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes, I would definitely recommend this to friends who love this genre, or someone who is looking for something a different to read. The book is so cute and was a very easy read. I wondered if it was going to be overhyped but it was really good. I thought it was slow at first, but was hard to put down towards the end. So sweet and cute!

Author: Emily Henry
Would you recommend this book? Yes, to anyone who enjoys fun, fluffy romance.

Would you recommend this book? 100%. It is an emotional book, I wouldn't call it just a romantic book.

Author: Emily Henry
Recommend? Yes! It's a nice, light easy-to-read romance.

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry (finished 1/30), my review is here
I would definitely recommend this book - it rated 5 stars from me. It had everything I want in a romcom - I laughed, I cried, and I loved the main characters. I miss them already!

Author: Emily Henry
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this book! I loved Poppy and Alex's relationship. I laughed, I cried... and I'm definitely going to be reading Emily Henry's other books!

Author: Ottessa Moshfegh
Would I recommend it: If you like eerie and unsettling books, then yes! I highly recommend it! I wouldn't classify it as scary in any way, but it will leave you feeling a bit haunted.

Author: Colleen Hoover
Would you recommend this book? Sure, it's a quick read. The book was unputdownable, but emotionally draining and irritating at times. There were parts that were just too corny for me.

Author: Deesha Philyaw
SUCH a good book, would recommend to basically everyone.
PS, what happened to the February check-in on these?
