Sophie, Your list is SO good this month. I actually have 3 of your choices at 5 star reads!
I rated The Wives and Jar of Hearts and Home Before Dark as 5 stars!
A buddy read of the Sally Rooney book would be nice Vicki! I put it on hold at the library anyway and am 10 in line.
Just posted some votes. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a great holiday season! Stay warm, stay safe, stay healthy!!
Merry Christmas to you all. My wi-fi will be installed on the 29th so will finally be able to post. We are now living in Paducah, Kentucky and spending all of our time opening boxes and getting settled. The people here are so friendly and kind. Our new neighbor brought us a platter of cookies this morning as a welcome to the neighborhood. Will have Christmas dinner with family this evening.
I had a four-way tie (out of 4 people lol) so I am going to choose Beautiful World, Where Are You - although I am fourth in line so may have to wait until February for a buddy read!
My wi-fi will not be installed until Friday so am waiting patiently. Hopefully I will begin posting my list shortly ante on yours. My phone only displays a couple of the books on your lists.

Let me know your start date when it gets closer and I will read with you. It appears to be available at my library.

Try betterworldbooks.com - I find a lot of hard to find books there at very good prices - AND for every book you buy, they donate a book to a literacy program.

I could use an audible credit on it if your hold comes in before mine.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a restful and peaceful festive break. I had a tie between Home Before Dark and The Wives so I'll be reading both this month. I finished Home Before Dark last night (I thought it was good but a little disappointed by the ending) and will be moving on to the Wives after I've finished The Family Upstairs :)

I am about half way through this one and it is really good. It is super uncomfortable and I don't know what is going to happen.
Trigger warnings though for child abuse FOR SURE.
It is on kindle unlimited right now if you have that, or it is pretty cheap just to purchase on kindle. I recommend it!
I am reading “The Heart Keeper”. I have been unloading boxes for the past few weeks and found some books that look wonderful. Our move to Kentucky has been a kick. I have a neighbor who is a reader and passed on some pretty good mysteries. So far I am meeting some good people.
I finished ‘Right Behind You’ last week, I do like Rachel Abbott, plot moves along at speed & I certainly didn’t see the very end coming. I’ve also just finished ‘The Girls’ by Lisa Jewell, also very good.

Sounds great Patricia, hope those boxes are near the end!
Kirsten wrote: "Hope I don't come off as a nag, but will we be doing a PIFM for February?"I'd like to! I find this time of year is pretty slow and can get some reading in. The province I am in is in lockdown again, so not much else to do!
Glad you are enjoying it Patricia!
I finished my January read and it was a good and horrible one!
The Perfect ChildI gave it 4 stars, but the ending was completely sudden and out of the blue. Like mid scene - the end.
There was some heinous abuse (child and pet) as well.
But the story was fast paced and I had to find out what happened.

I'd like to too - I'm having a real reading drive again and have lots of books to choose from :)
Oh no, sorry to hear you're back in lockdown, Dana. At least being in lockdown leaves you plenty of time for reading!!

Yes it does, although lockdown is better in the summer! There is so much snow here, I hate going outside in it :(
I will have to avoid that book then Vicki, those don't sit well with me!
I put the threads up for Janet for February. I don't think she will mind. I know it is a lot for the moderators. So let's get our lists up and do some voting!
I finished 5 books in January and they were called The Lying House by Rick Mofina and The Class Reunion by N.L. Hinkens and All Your Twisted Secrets by Diana Urban and Step by Step by Candace Calvert and He Was a Liar by Daniel Hurst

PLEASE NOTE:
PIFM is meant to be FUN and not to be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if all participants just chilled and not get worked up about voting, who votes, who doesn't, etc. Please bear in mind that some will just want to vote, many don't come on everyday and most of us have time constraints. I just want a relaxed approach to it all and for you all to just enjoy the process! I'd really appreciate your courtesy in this matter. Many thanks.
