I love Rosamund Pilcher! I have been rereading September, so probably won't join this read though this is a book I have enjoyed more than once. Great read for this time of year.
I have this and planned to read it soon- but I have SO many Christmas reads right now, I may just start it and finish it in January. My ulterior motive too is to use it on my Motley challenge as a moderator pick in 22.
I am really looking forward to reading this a little closer to Christmas when I have time off. I will listen on audio.

I've just started this. Listening to the audiobook. Liking it so far, although I thought Elfrida was more like 82, until she mentions her age is 62!
I listened to it on audio too (years ago: not sure if it's the same narrator you have) and I also liked it, Laurel. It's a good "listen."

Oscar and Elfrida take refuge in a rambling house in Scotland which becomes a magnet for various waifs and strays who converge upon it, including an unhappy teenage girl. It could be a recipe for disaster. But somehow the Christmas season weaves its magical spell and for Elfrida and Oscar, in the evening of their lives, the winter solstice brings love and solace.
