Arachne was overconfident, but so was Athena. Arachne's punishment was too harsh . What do you think ?

Well, I mean Arachne was kind of arrogant, and Athena was too, and when Athena got embarrassed in front of everyone, she turned Arachne into the first spider. I guess the punishment kind of fit the crime, but now that Arachne's a spider, she also became more bitter and evil. This is shown in her encounter with Annabeth.
