Halen | 81 comments “Oh thank you. This is the first time anyone has seem my room.” Iris spoke as she walked further into the room. After throwing her notebook on her bed she walked over to her nightstand. After rummaging around in the top drawer for a second she pulled out a silicone cat coin purse. “Dont laugh at this. My mom got it for me when I was ten.. and it is very practical” She held up the cat to show Bonnie. She grabbed a sweater from the chair at her desk that was on the other side of the room and held it in her arms. “Are you ready to go?” She smiled widely.

"Is that English ivy growing along the wall?" She asked curiously, stepping further into the room. Bonnie looked at the cat purse with genuine adornment, "Its so cute. I would never laugh," Bonnie said reassuringly. "Yes, shall we?" She agreed, returning Iris' smile. "I never thought that I would make a friend so quickly," She admitted as they walked along the dorm's hallway. "I am thankful of course," She wondered what it would be like in three or four years, would they still be friends? Perhaps best of friends? She let out a contented sigh, that would be her dream. To have a friend for that long. Back home she'd been in a relationship, albeit a toxic one, and it had taken all of her time. She'd had no room for friends, it was nice to have air to breathe. Bonnie wondered, and not for the first time, if this was the best thing for her. For her mental health, it seemed to be the perfect thing.

Halen | 81 comments "You're actually my first friend at this school." Iris admitted without thinking, then looked down to stare at her shoes. She figured she probably sounded just about pathetic to Bonnie. Seeings as she had been at this school almost a year and had not managed to make a single friend yet. Iris got along with people well enough, but she hadn't talked to very many people for any length of time prior to this. She tried to not dwell on it though as she made her way out of the door to lock up her room before they left to go to the Cafe. She had let Bonnie go out before her, but the girl waited for her to lock up before she started down the hall instep with Iris. Iris wasn't sure if it was because she was being polite, or if Bonnie just didn't know what way to go.

Iris admitted to Bonnie that Bonnie was her first friend at the school, Bonnie was honestly surprised. Iris was so sweet, and toook her time to really get to know her! What was wrong with other people? Asshats. Bonnie smiled sidelong at Iris, “Ya know if people aren’t making friends with you like they should then it’s their loss. You’re a wonderful person, they’d be lucky to get to know you,” she winked and continued to walk out of the dorm at Iris’ side, her friend, her almost dormmate. They could have almost been in the same dorm. It was amazing that they were right next to each other. Bonnie was excited to get to know Iris even better while they spent time together, she wondered who Iris’ parents were, no one really ever knew her own parents, but they usually recognized her Aunt Merida’s name. Would people here know her dad? Meridas younger brother? Hmmm, it would be interesting if anyone did. Would she recognize Iris’ parents names? She heard that a lot of popular heroes and princesses and princes alike had children housed at Disney academy.

Halen | 81 comments “Well thank you.” The rest of the walk out of the dorm building was quiet as both girls contemplated their thoughts. But when they stepped outside, Iris decided maybe she should as more about the girl beside her. Other than she was new, loves peppermint mochas, and was very kind, Iris really didn’t know her. “So…” She started awkwardly not sure how to phrase her next sentence. “Would it be okay if I asked you some questions about your self and where you’re from?” She didn't want to just blurt out a question that might make the girl uncomfortable. “And Id be willing to answer any questions you might have for me as well.”

Bonnie took in the scenery’s as they exited the building, gods it was beautiful. She couldn’t help but stare a bit at all of the pretty landscape. Of course it was no Scotland. But it was still gorgeous. Iris mentioned getting to know one another and if she would mind being asked personal questions. “No, ask away,” she said with an encouraging nod, “I’m an open book, even if it means I have to talk about something hard. I’ll ask you a few too if you don’t mind ?” It would seem that Iris was open to the idea, Bonnie was teeming with questions. They passed some students that were giggling over something, Bonnie could see her and Iris being that way in a few short weeks. Sharing secrets, having personal jokes that no one else would get. A true friend.

Halen | 81 comments “Well, mostly I want to know where you’re from…,” There were for sure more things that she wanted to know, but she would start with the basics and get more detailed/in depth as they went along. She figured that they would walk to the cafe as it wasn’t really that far away, and from what she knew, neither of the girls had a car to drive. Or even the ability to drive legally, at that. She saw Bonnie notice the few students that were huddled around and laughing. She then wondered what the girl was thinking about as she stared at them.

Bonnie took it as no surprise to the first question, her accent probably raised questions. She cleared her throat and said easily, “I’m from the highlands of Scotland. It’s beautiful, I miss it already.” She couldn’t help but admit that she missed the home she’d ever known. But of course she was also too happy to be gone from there. “But I like it here,” she pushed her hands in to her Jean pockets, “What about you? Where are you from? Do you have siblings?” They we’re walking along the perimeters of the campus and the edge of town, she wondered if they would soon be at the cafe. She had no idea where anything was yet, but with Iris’ help she was sure she would get to know the area quickly.

Halen | 81 comments Iris nodded along as she listened to her friend explain about the land she came from. She had heard of the country of Scotland, and she had seen the most beautiful pictures, but she had never been there. She turned down the road to the left after making sure no cars were coming. And once they were back on the side walk she answered the set of questions that are given to her. “Well. I was born and raised in a ton not too far from here actually. Its only about a fourty-five minute drive. And I have an older sister. Her name is Ashley, and she goes to this school. She is two years ahead of me, she’s 18 nnnow.” She had noticed that Bonnie hadn’t asked who her parents were, which was a surprise. Most time you spoke to someone at this school the first question out of their mouth was ‘who are your parents’. “Do you have any siblings?” She figured it was only fair that she now get to know the same things as her friend.
(im just not going to say a city/country name..)

“Wow so you grew up near here?” Bonnie thought Iris lucky, it was beautiful country, “Did you hear about the school growing up? Oh you have a sister here?“ what fun! She kind of wished her brothers had followed her here. That would lead to a lot of mischief, but it would have been fun all the same. “I do have siblings, three brothers. They’re triplets, and I love them dearly,” Bonnie gave Iris’ hand a brief squeeze. “Siblings are precious,” she then cleared her throat, in a sense clearing her emotions that were creeping in from missing her family. “Who are your parents? Sorry, just a bit curious. I hear that most children have famous parents that attend here. I was curious as to know if I would recognize yours,” she hoped that she wasn’t overstepping any bounds or something. She truly was just curious, and would give up her aunts name in a heartbeat if asked, as that would be the name that Iris would recognize. If she recognized anything at all.

Halen | 81 comments She saw the look of sudden sadness in her friends face but opted not to say anything when she saw how fast she changed topics. "My parents are Aurora and Phillip. You might know the story of Maleficent." If people didn't know her parents by name, they almost always knew their story, so she just added the second part instead of waiting for the girl to ask about it. That is if she needed to ask at all. Sometimes the Villains were more well known than the hero in the story. "And no one knew anything about the school until it was competitive built and running. I was 4 when it got finished, but my parents didn't really talk about it around me."

Buildings came into view, a busyness was upon them as people went about their errands and headed to shops and cafes. Bonnie turned her head quickly to stare at Iris, “Aurora and Phillip are your parents?!” Her mouth hung opening a moment before she remembered to close it. She clapped it shut and held back the thousands of questions that popped into her head. “Of course I know Maleficent as well, but your parents are also popular where I am from. I had no idea that their children attended the school, that’s amazing,” her face shone with excitement as she took it all in. “I am honored to meet the daughter of Aurora and Phillip, I hope that we will be best of friends. I know that you don’t know me too well yet, but I have a good feeling about our friendship,” she smiled sheepishly and then continued onto the cobbled streets that were set before them. “Do you ever wonder about your own legacy? With our family members being so important, sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed in what I should do with my own life because of it. How to ever compete with that level of heroism or popularity?”

Halen | 81 comments She had never seen someone so excited over learning who her parents were. She took a little bow when Bonnie stared at her with what looked like awe. “I hope we will be good friends, too.” She nodded. “I have never considered what might happen. And to be honest, no matter how stupid and cliche this sounds, I don’t WANT to worry. I just let life do its thing, as long as I’m having fn. And meeting nice people, such as yourself, I‘m content for the time being. And my parents always tried to down play what happened, and said that I should worry about being me, not trying to plow in their footsteps..” She knew she might have sounded cringy, but it was the truth. “Hey, you still haven’t told me who your parents are.”

It sounded like Iris was following her own footsteps, not worrying about her parents and everything that they’d been through. Everything that made them popular. Bonnie liked her answer, she could see herself doing the same thing. Except she was always thinking of what others might think, about how she compared with her aunt. She would like to change her mindset though, and made a promise to herself to stop comparing so much. “I think you’ve got a great mindset,” she told Iris as they stopped outside of a building that had cafe written on the outside sign. “Oh… my parents aren’t popular, but my auntie is. Auntie Merida of the highlands? She turned her mom into a bear for a limited time? And her triplet brothers? One of her brothers is my dad. And I have triplet brothers of my own…” she didn’t mention that she got her rebellious streak from her aunt, or that a lot of her life had been spent looking up to her aunt. “I’m not sure if you’ll recognize the name or not, she’s mostly popular in Scotland.” Bonnie gestures towards the door of the cafe, “Ready to go in?” There we’re people leaving the cafe, as well as people lining up at the counter.
