I will be starting on Jan 3 as that is when Bout of Books starts and I don't like carrying over books for readathons when I can help it.

You’re so fast! I haven’t started yet. I might actually wait until the third and try and read one of my solo books before I start.

I was eager to get started, but I did not anticipate getting a quarter of the way through!

I will be starting when I get home from work today. My goal is to read 25-50 pgs a day (night) unless I get wrapped up in it, like it looks like Charleen did!

I started it tonight! Read up to chapter 4.

I made it to page 52. I am loving it, the prose is so beautiful. Funny, I'm reading two Schwab books at the same time and they couldn't be more different! I'm also reading .

Vicious is one of my favourite books! I’m not sure what I think of Addie yet.

I will very likely finish this tomorrow. I'm finding the middle section a bit meandering but in a pleasant way, and I want to know how it ends!

Whatever my final verdict, I definitely intend to pick up more V.E. Schwab.

I loved Vicious, the Shades of Magic, and The Archived books!

Read a few more chapters. 😅 I’m inching through this as I have time. I’m sure I’ll be the last to finish, at this rate.

I finished. I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but it wasn't quite there for me. Here's my general review:

I want to love this. I really, really, really like it. So many things are done so well. I was frustrated with how some events or characters or ideas were given more exploration than others which were equally or (I thought) more deserving. (Yes, this can happen with any book, but I felt the lack more than usual in this one.) Basically I wish it were either 100 pages shorter or 300 pages longer. But it was so, so enjoyable.

Looking forward to sharing more spoilery thoughts later.

I’m planning to focus on this one more over the weekend.

I've gotten to page 103! It's...very all over the place as in nothing is happening. lol. But the prose!

Reached page 53 tonight. I'm trailing you both lol. I had a long work day, but I wanted to get at least a little bit done.

I didn't read it all weekend. I'm on page 107. Hoping to get back to it today.

I finished reading Addie on Saturday and I loved it. More than Vicious. I didn't quite love the ending but I loved the rest. Though how many times was 'palimpsest' written?! A lot. Over ten times. lol. But I enjoyed it a lot. How are you getting along, Shelby?

I’m a few chapters into part 2. I’ve been under the weather lately, and I haven’t been hooked by this book yet, so I haven’t been reading as much as I should be. I feel bad because it was my suggestion. 😓 I might just switch to the audiobook soon so I can push through it faster.

I started part 3 a couple days ago. Planning to finish this in the next few days.

Whenever you end up finishing or however much you enjoy it or not, it gave Elyse and me the push to get to a book we both really enjoyed, so don't feel bad!

LOL Yes, I noticed that too. I know part of the repetition was thematic, but also have you just noticed how certain authors like to use certain words?

I am really glad you guys liked it! This one really isn’t hooking me like I hoped it would. I’m 65% as of this evening. Planning to finish this week.
