Wooohoooo, I finally have a reason to pick up this doorstopper book. The number of pages has had me move it down my TBR over and over again.
This was an Editor's Extra on Audible I think back in 2020, and it's been sitting there staring at me since. But I always do the January group read, so now I have no excuse lol!
I’m really looking forward to this. I had already chosen this book to fulfill one of my prompts for another reading challenge next year. It’s been on my TBR for a long time.
I kept seeing this series and never read it because I’m not sure this is the type of book I will enjoy. But I’m willing to give it a try!
I love the tv series but haven’t actually read any of the books! I think I will join in on this read!:)
I think I am one of the few who even haven't seen the series. My mom kept saying it is interesting. Or was it Poldark, I still don't know if it is the same ot two different things :). I suppose it is time to see what all the fuzz is about.
Can’t wait to start this book! Bought it 2.5 years ago in Edinburgh because I love the show so much, so I am super excited to see how the show compares to the actual book.
i adore the tv show, and have been wanting to read this for such a long time, i'll hopefully be able to make it through this through out january
I’ve picked this book up several times and put it back in favor of something else. I am excited to have some outside motivation to “not put it back”. Have heard and read good reviews!
I am excited to join this group read. I've wanted to read the book but the 900+ pages have intimidated me. I know that it has a huge following and many readers do role play based on it. I have watched a bit of the TV show but I always prefer the book. I look forward to all your comments as we delve into this tome!
Yay! I've read part of Outlander, I think nearly 2 years ago, but life interrupted me and I'm going to start it over fresh, so it was a delight to stumble on this post to see this is going to be a group read! The Outlander series is one that I want to make a dent in this year and it is a series I'm collecting in "RL" with a specific format/edition - the larger paperbacks. I own the first 3. In general this year I am trying to read books that I already own or that I have already selected to read, including re-reads, so this could not be more perfect!

You may also enjoy the "Clear the Shelves" challenge this group does...encourages us to read what we own before accumulating more :-)

Thanks for the suggestion!
Yayy I'm excited. I recently just moved to a different state and didn't bring all of my books, but happened to bring this one. This will definitely give me a reason to pick it up instead of just leaving it sitting around when I could've brought a different book with me.
I’m *kind of* looking forward to giving this a go. I love historical fiction but don’t usually like dual timeline stories.
I also started reading this a long time ago and for some reason didn’t get beyond around page 200 so I’m looking forward to this and starting over with you all. Would love to find a good series to get into so fingers crossed for getting hooked!
I am new to this group. I have read this book and (sorry fans) it wasn't my cup of tea. Since I have no desire to re-read it, I will read December's book instead. :) Happy reading!
I've been intrigued by this book and series for a while, but have received mixed reviews and have never been sure it would be something I would enjoy. I tend to enjoy books of all genres though, so if I can track down a copy, I'd be happy to give it a try.
I've actually been meaning to finish this book for a while now! I think I might have to re-start it, but I don't mind. It will be a great way to start off the new year!
I bought the book and will start reading today! So excited to see if I’ll like the book just as much as the tv series!🤗
Although I have this on kindle I have decided to get it on audio as well to see if that helps me get into it( the first time I tried this, I gave up while still in 1945!)
I'm new to the group and still trying to figure out my way. I just started with this book. Do I need to mark this anywhere to participate in this ? Or there will be just a discussion thread where people will present their take on it as they progress or after they complete ?
I have just been notified that my e-book library loan is ready for me, so I hope to participate in the discussion.
This has been sitting on my TBR for years. Last year I got halfway done and had to give up. The book was filled with too many characters for me to keep straight with all that was going on in my life. This will be great to read with the group.
Just got my hands on a copy. I'll be going in completely blind, haven't seen the show, excited to dive in tonight!
okay I am joining in on this one as I have never read it before.started the book an hour ago and so far it is enticing me to read more.
I recently bought a set of the first few books so this is perfect timing! I'm going in a bit blind and hoping it lives up to the hype :)
I finally listened to it not too long ago (I'm currently listening to Book 4 because I got hooked!) because I wanted to watch the series and I have to read the books before I watch series. I'm excited to be able to finally participate in a group read!
I just logged into goodreads for the first time this year.. oops! Going to start it tonight, I'm currently reading YNAB (You Need a Budget) but I'm hoping to be done with it today. I've never read Outlander so I'm excited to start it!
Have just downloaded this for the January challenge, not sure what to expect as I'm not familiar with this book/author!
I read this when it first came out and still have my original paperback copy, which has been shared, borrowed and reread!

This is where we will be discussion the book prior to the group read. If you're excited for the book let us know! Have you read it before or is it your first time?
