Craig Turner (craigwturner) | 6 comments While I was writing my time travel series Wilton's Gold - Book 1: Fortune, I started a time travel planning calendar as a project to help me keep dates straight. When I finished the series, which has its share of time travel destinations, it occurred to me that other authors might be able to make use of my compiled research. Threw in some graphics and voila!

If you're writing time travel, remember how much fun it is to poke holes in time travel logic! If you can use my calendar resource to stay on course... Well, that makes me happy. Enjoy - and keep me posted!

Nice job Craig...

Makes me wonder what is with 1752?

Craig Turner (craigwturner) | 6 comments Actually, it's pretty fascinating... In 1752 – the year that the Liberty Bell first arrived in Philadelphia – Great Britain and all of its colonies skipped September 2-14 in order to marry its Julian calendar with the Gregorian calendar that was used in other European countries.

Think about the implications of sending your time-traveling character to September 8, 1752. Let that blow your mind for a bit!

I always find it interesting what new obstacles each time travel author seeks to overcome in their writing. I love your idea of a time travel calendar to make sure which day of the week you're arriving.

Craig Turner (craigwturner) | 6 comments I will admit the exercise, and subsequently the idea for the calendar, came during the editing process when I realized I'd run into a weekend - which didn't work for the story. Had some fun putting it together, though, once I started.

On my part, my difficulty on keeping track of the order the actions of the main characters do in my books, I also had to contend with three parallel historical timelines, each following a different calendar. Talk about a real fruit salad!
