I have had Stolen Tongues on my list for a while...I am wondering if anyone has read and can confirm that the protagonists are POC?

I don't remember either Felix or Faye being Black, but it is very possible I missed that or am misremembering. Now I'm curious and might have to reread Stolen Tongues. It's a very fun book that totally creeped me out.
I just started reading ‘Benny Rose, the Cannibal King’ by Hailey Piper - and the protagonist is black! So that is my book for this category.
For anyone wanting to travel further afield for this one, I highly recommend the works of Nigerian author Nuzo Onoh. Her works have some truly terrifying scenes in them (caution for people squeamish about body horror). She definitely deserves to be better known in the west. Unhallowed Graves is a great one. I may read The Sleepless for this challenge.

I just finished The Between: A Novel by Tananarive Due, which was fantastic. It was written in 1995 but felt extremely relevant to today, unfortunately. I don't know how I missed Due's work until now, she's wonderful.
It is actually more of a thriller, but I loved Ace of Spades by Faridah Abike-Iyimide. Beautifully written with characters I LOVED! I would love to see this be made into mini series so it could get a wider audience. A must read for fans of thrillers with twists you never see coming and a last paragraph that left me breathless.Ace of Spades
I went with Cirque Berserk by Jessica Guess. I love love love all the 80's nostalgia! 3.5-3.75⭐ rounded up to 4.
I read Ring Shout, and it is one of the best books I've read recently. Stephanie, if you're still thinking about reading this one, I strongly support your choice!
A Spectral Hue by Craig Laurance Gidney. A gorgeous gorgeous novel. I will be thinking about this one for a while.

I've listened to 25% of The Jumbies! I love the premise of the novel, but I don't love reading middle grade books, so I probably won't finish. The audiobook reader is worth listening. It was interesting to learn about the creepy lore of another culture. I wish this book had been around when I was in middle school.
