Reading challenges??? Another of my GR groups does a bunch of them (both yearly and monthly challenges) and I find them really helpful for not only narrowing down my TBR list, but for getting me to read new authors and genres that I normally wouldn't. A really fun one is the monthly Hidden Gems challenge, where each person is assigned a partner(?) who then choose (based on which of your own GR bookshelves you give for them to choose from) a book(s) for each other to read that month.
*hopefully that makes sense* XD
OOOOH this is a really really really good suggestion Winter! Thanks so much, and let's definitely start that!!!! I would love if you could give me a few more details though, as I'm slightly confused lol
XD Here's the group's explanation for the Hidden Gems Challenge. ^-^Hidden Gems is a fantastic way to plow through those mountains of books claiming space in your house or e-reader. I have found that this challenge produces some fun group interaction as well because someone else chooses which book you’ll read next.
If you sign up, you'll be matched up with a Hidden Gems partner. You will choose a book from the list your partner designates which you have already read and cannot believe your partner hasn’t read yet. Your partner will do the same for you with the list you designate. The point is to find that “Hidden Gem” that you think they’ll love… because you adored it when you read it!
Let us know which books you choose for each other. When you finish reading your gem, let us know what you thought about it. Perhaps your Hidden Gem might find its way to someone else’s wish list!
OOOOhhhh that sounds really really really coool!!!!!! Thanks for telling me about that, Winter!!!!!!

Just going through the various discussion threads in the group and trying to get acclimated. I'd like to suggest From Meidelach to Matriarchs ~ A Journal: Jewish Women of Yesteryear to Inspire your Today The word "meidelach" is a Yiddish word (Jewish) that means young girl or maiden. While this book focuses on Jewish women, the main point is for the reader to exercise their skills in reflection and introspection through journaling. It is a great tool for groups, because we could read a few chapters (they are one page each) and discuss amongst ourselves...just a thought.

Please be honest! I won't bite. XD
