Shelby Suderman | 2184 comments Back doing this challenge again! So excited!

I’ve been wanting to do the ABC Challenge again for a while, but also I don’t like having to dive for books to fit each letter like I did last time a few years ago. I want to do challenges that motivate me to get books OFF my tbr, not scrambling for something new that fits a letter. I finally worked out a compromise.

To that end, my main reading challenge for 2022 will be the RYO-ABC Challenge. It goes like this: The goal is to do the ABC challenge, but for every letter I don’t have something I want that fits it, I will read TWO books on my tbr from before 2020. Takes the stress out of it, and I feel good about getting stuff off my tbr. This will involve some shuffling around as what I read changes, but I don’t actually care.

B Below by Laurel Hightower

If I was feeling really ambitious, I could even fill it out multiple times! I doubt I'll have that kind of time to read tho.

Shelby Suderman | 2184 comments One by One by Ruth Ware

First book of the year down. This book was added before 2020, so I could always change how it counts for my challenge later on, but for now I'm using it for the ABC part.

Shelby Suderman | 2184 comments I Am Legend by Richard Matheson

Crossing out the letter X first because I’m not going to pretend I’ll be reading a book for that letter.

Or just pick a title that has an X somewhere in it like Notes on an Execution.

Shelby Suderman | 2184 comments Monsters and Mayhem by Eerie River Publishing

I have another book I need to read soon that starts with 'M', but I was determined to cross it off with this one first because it's one of mine. I've already read something for 'I' this year, so I knew It Calls From the Veil won't get to be the one this time when it releases later this year.

message 14: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2184 comments A Noise Downstairs by Linwood Barclay

This is one of the older books on my tbr, so when I know what letter I need to clear off, I have two books for it.

One more older book on my TBR and it looks like that's the RYABC Challenge completed! I think I'm gonna try and do this one again next year, because it was fun. If I read any more of the older tbr books, I'll add them to the list at the bottom.
