I'm Frances, a teenage cisgender girl, who is still in high school. I'm working to become an enviromental/human rights lawyer, go to debate clubs and etcetera, and have recently switched schools (from a college prep school, to an ordinary high school). I'm an atheist, and a lesbian.

I don't plan on ever having children, and am pro-choice.

My parents divorced when I was two, and then my mom divorced my step-dad a year ago, and I have two younger half-siblings.
I love frogs, writing, and video games.

so cisgender means you are straight and lesbian means you are into women. Just curious as to your true orientation is all.

I love frogs specifically because of two frogs:
The poison dart frog...
and Kermit the Frog.
I love the poison dart frog because it's so tiny and cute, yet it could kill a grown man easily. I admire that.
And Kermit the Frog because I like his vibes.
Altogether, I became rather fond of frogs.

I switched schools because my parents moved too far from my other one, unfortunately. Funny story - college prep schools have a strange, but not unwelcome, amount of gay nerds and theater kids.

Cisgender is the opposite of transgender, meaning I was born with genitals assigned female, and I stuck with it.

Oh I guess that is my college education getting in the way. At college that is synonym for straight. you know the common insult. Cisgender white male ect haha.

You sure? That's strange. Yeah, cisgender has always been the technical term for "denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex."

well like pangender means you are into boys and girls. I always thought it was the gender in the name that had to do with orientation. But I might be wrong, I am straight and don't know too much about LGBT stuff.

Straight and heterosexual is the same thing, right?

Pangender also doesn't mean you're into boys and girls, it means you identify with all genders. So like, he/she/they. Sorta a varient of genderfluid.
Sexualitys, other than "gay" and "lesbian", typically have and "lity" to the end of it. Like bisexuality, pansexuality, demisexuality. Even gay and lesbian can be narrowed down to homosexuality.
It can be confusing though, so I understand why it's gotten mixed up
Also, a lot of the time if a guy is straight, people immediately and sometimes incorrectly assume that he's cisgender, so maybe that's where that confusion came from.
It must be weird seeing all this LGBT+ stuff from the outside, I'm already sometimes confused and I'm actually in the community lol

It's more of a discomfort than anything. Similar to if someone would call you "Jared" or etc for no reason. Like, I do identify as a woman, so I don't have the experience of someone transgender, and it isn't like I have dysphoria. But when people sorta brush over the "they/them" part of my pronouns, it's kinda like

Understandable. I have a friend who identifies as he/they and I accidentally messed up on their pronouns. I felt horrible and corrected myself right afterwards and apologized, but it made me feel guilty and I hoped they weren't offended by it.

According to the people I've asked (my closest friend is nonbinary, and I know a few transguys irl) you don't have to worrry, they aren't offended. Typically, unless the person's just bitter and mean otherwise, it's more of a intention thing.
If the person had bad intentions misusing your pronouns, it's offensive and rude.
If the person had good intentions, and just happened to make a mistake, it's fine - just a bit weird for a minute or so.

It just shows you have good empathy and are a kind person to worry on their behalf, so I'm sure it's fine :)
