The hedge maze is basically a maze made out of bushes. It is always neatly cut, so have fun playing tag or hide in panic! The middle of the maze is quite hard to find. It has a fountain and a bench beside it, with an apple, peach, and plum tree surrounding the fountain.

Will was actually seated up on top of the hedges, after several attempts and bruises. He was enjoying his victory quite a lot, excited to gloat to his friend who had bet he wouldn't be able to get up here. He slowly stood up completely, thinking for the first time that it was strange the hedges could hold his weight. "Must be magic," he remarked to himself, giving the hedge a test, jumping lightly. This, it seemed, wasn't a very wise move, as it caused him to fall off the hedge and onto the very hard ground.

Chloe heard a sound as she was walking through the maze carefully to the middle. Chloe had memorized the layout of the maze, and it was quite tricky, so the middle was her place to think. What was that?
She followed the path to where she thought the sound came from and saw a boy laying on the ground, looked a little surprised. "Um... did you just fall? Are you okay?" Chloe asked him.

"Ow," Will groaned from the ground. He blinked up at the pretty girl looking down at him. Curse my lankyness! "Um, yeah I did fall. I'm fine now though."

Chloe smiled slightly and stuck a hand out to help him up. "How'd you fall? Tripped over a root?"

Will gratefully took her offered hand pulling himself up. "Um, not exactly," he mumbled, a slight blush coming to his cheeks. "I was climbing the hedges."

Chloe stared at him, surprised. "You climbed it? That's tricky."

"It was, uh, a bet I had with my friend a while back," Will offered as an excuse. "I decided I'd practice a little, so I could beat her."

Chloe nodded. "I see. And you just decided to fall, y'know, for a little practice too?"

"Um," Will cleared his throat, pretty sure his face was as red as a tomato now. "Yes-er-no. A, um, bird scared me. Yeah, a bird."

Chloe wasn't normally this non-shy, but for some reason this guy seemed to take the timidness right out of her. She smirked, replying, "A bird, eh? Good for it. Startled a manly man!"

Will cleared his throat again. "Um. Anyways. We haven't actually been introduced, I guess, huh? I'm Will."

"Chloe." She glanced to the side, then back at Will. "Do you know how to get to the middle of the maze?"

"Um...no," Will said, disappointed not to know it. Showing off might have been nice. "Nice to meet you, Chloe."

Chloe smiled slyly. "I do...by heart."

"Really?" Will asked, impressed. "Wow. You'll have to show me some time. I don't think I've ever even been to the center before."

She shrugged. "I can show you now if you want."

"Brilliant!" Will said, grinning at her. "Lead on then, Captain Chloe. I'll trail behind looking lost in awe of your magnificent skills."

Chloe's cheeks flushed and she turned around. "Alright."

Will grinned at her back as she started walking deeper into the maze. He took great pleasure in making people blush; it was always fun. He followed her into the maze, hoping she did in fact know where they were going and that they wouldn't get lost. Although, it might not be such a bad thing if they did...
Will grinned wider at the thought.

Taking twists and turns, Chloe quickly arrived at the center of the hedge maze. "I took a shortcut. So what do you think?" The middle of the maze had a fountain and a bench beside it, with an apple, peach, and plum tree surrounding the fountain.

"This is downright amazing," Will said, glancing around. "Of course, I'd probably get lost if I tried to get in here by myself. What great luck I had finding you."

For some reason, this made Chloe's cheeks flush. She turned around to hide them from his view. "Ah. Uh, thanks."

Will didn't notice, looking up at the peach tree. He wondered if he could climb it and pick a peach or two without falling to his death. Probably not. Instead of climbing and risking a fatal injury, he chose to sit on the bench, looking over at Chloe. "What, exactly, do you do around here, Miss Chloe?"

"I. Um, I brood over stuff." Now that Chloe had actually told someone, it was embarrassing. Her cheeks burned with red.

"Brooding, eh?" Will asked, pulling his legs up closer to him and sitting indian style ((criss cross apple sauce)), looking up at her. "Sounds fun. What do you brood about?"

((Lol))

She turned back to him, quite aware of her flushed cheeks. "Not exactly 'fun'. But I brood about a lot of stuff...it's my special place I guess."

"Oh, have I intruded upon your special place?" Will asked, raising an eyebrow. "I do apologize. I'll leave if you wish me to."

Somehow, heat burned in her cheeks even more. Chloe was extremely unstable in her mind, where she had no idea how Will was making her feel this way. "N-no."

Will's smile fell some. "Sorry, am I making you uncomfortable? I do that sometimes; I don't mean to."

Chloe found herself missing the smile. God, what a klutz. Stop bumbling and just be smooth, like normal! She quickly shook her head. "No, no! Stay; you're fine."

"Glad to hear it," Will said, his smile returning. "C.B says I get overbearing a lot, but I think that's just her. How can I be overbearing? I'm the best company, honestly."

Chloe's smile fell somewhat. For some unknown reason, her stomach clenched. "Who?"

"Hm? Oh, C.B," Will blew out a breath. "A very annoying person. She's one of my close friends."

She. Annoying. Close friend.

Cover your emotions, said her mind. Chloe made her face expressionless. "Ah. Close friend?"

"Yes," Will said, not seeming to notice the emphasis on 'friend'. "Second to only...well, no one really. We met in first year, and bam, friendship."

Friendship? Are you sure? Sounds like it's something more. Chloe fought to keep a scowl off her face...Why?

"She's the one who bet I couldn't climb the hedge," Will told her, as if it were a bit secret. "And I've proved her wrong, obviously. It's quite refreshing. Usually she wins."

"Usually?" Chloe repeated. Internally, she was burning with....jealousy?

"We bet on a lot of things," Will said, still not noticing. "Who can get a better grade, who can climb the hedge, who can get a date first. That kinda thing."

Who can get a date first.... "Pretty casual, huh?"

"Yep," Will said. "No one's one the last one yet. I'm pretty sure I'll get it eventually though, I'm positive."

((wut))

Chloe didn't comprehend what that might mean for her. "Huh."

"Celia's awkward about that kind of stuff," Will told her. "So she won't get a date for another fifty years probably."

((Oh...))

"Awkward?" Chloe repeated, eyebrows rising. "Are you sure she's just awkward about that because........"

"I watched her try and ask her crush out once," Will said with a grin, remembering. "She ended up knocking over a cup and spilling stuff all over them both."

((Sorreh))

Her crush? "Oh...really. Who was it?"

"I don't know," Will said with a shrug. "I never bothered to get a name. Some girl a year above us, I believe."

Chloe realized she was just standing there, and she quickly turned around again, cheeks turning crimson. "Oh."

"What?" Will asked her, noticing at last how odd she was being. "You don't have a problem with Celia liking girls, do you?" Will took a deep breath to start ranting; then thought better of it, deciding to wait and see her answer.
