So I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I do a podcast now and I’m trying to kinda transition my writing to a book rather than something I speak. But it’s like the details are so easily explained when I’m talking. And when I go to write in my book the chapters are so short. I’m not good a describing characters. And I guess just does anyone have advice on changing my style of writing from speech type writing to book type. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense. Tia.

Anyone just have one of those bad days and can't write? I'm not really enjoying the self-editing part of my novel, as I have to re-write a LOT and since things started happening in real life that leave me upset, instead of funneling it away in writing I have been ignoring my book. I started getting back into writing last night with a short story, and I'm trying to get back into the flow if it. (It's only been 4 days so i don't know why I'm struggling so much) but today I'm going to read 10 pages of my book and fix it up.

I've found that writing a short piece like poetry helps clear my mind.
I also rewrite the scene that I felt was bothering me once I take a break, and then it feels less awkward.
I often find myself writing a questionable scene, and then loosing interest in writing for a bit, until I find the energy to go back, delete, and rework the section. I've had to delete several chapters before. it's hard, but the result is always so much better!!
My issue is scene logistics. There's always one detail that we overlook which is crucial to making the scene possible. My master plan on how I want to execute a scene is always missing one step.Oh my character manages to sneak past the guard and has an escape route set up when the alarm goes off, but I don't know he figures out the code to the safe!
Or (usually in the middle of a time-sensitive situation) character has to be in Scene A and Scene B...but both scenes are miles apart and character doesn't drive or have a car...

I need my two main characters to meet but have no idea how to write the filler chapter about the female antagonist's jou..."Well if the antagonist is about to find the two MCs, they both have a reason to go there. The antagonist could have the same reason, or have heard they were their, or some other reason.
Depending on the important details, it would probably be best to start the chapter with her traveling there, and then spotting the MCs. And then the next time she appears can be affected by this?
Hi guys, I have a question...I'm on the first chapter of my book, but I was wondering --should it be counted as a chapter at all?
It consists of a flashback, giving the reader a bit of information about of my MC's past. It's about 600 words long, so I was wondering if it's more of a prologue??
Also, how many word should an average chapter be?
Okay, so when you're jumping from one scene to another in the same chapter, could you do something like this:****
I think it's a good idea, what do you guys think?
