I'm having some trouble with Goodreads today. It is super slow and the add book link isn't working well. I'll have to update to add the links later.

As usual, there are quite a few books I'm interested in. These are the ones that have made it onto my TBR.

I read The Maid and thought it was good.

I'm reading Reckless Girls and The Last House on the Street. I also have Josh and Gemma Make a Baby.

I am interested in A Flicker in the Dark and the newest in the Wayward Children series, Where the Drowned Girls Go.

I received The Taste of Ginger from Kindle First and have some interest in it, though it's not top of my list. I also might have some interest in Her Last Goodbye.

The Maid by Nita Prose Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins The Last House on the Street by Diane Chamberlain Josh and Gemma Make a Baby by Sarah Ready A Flicker in the Dark by Stacy Willingham Where the Drowned Girls Go (Wayward Children, #7) by Seanan McGuire The Taste of Ginger by Mansi Shah Her Last Goodbye by Rick Mofina

Also as usual, there are a couple books that I have read or plan to read that are re-releases. I have not added these to my list here.

Kristie, how was The Maid I have this to read next month. Have you read A Flicker in the Dark yet?

I really enjoyed them both, Kristine.

The Maid was an interesting story. I thought it was going to be lighter than it was. It isn't a cutesy cozy kind of mystery. The MC is very quirky, but it's a bit more serious. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

A Flicker in the Dark was very well-written. It doesn't read like a debut. I thought it was a really engaging read. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I just edited my above post to add the book links.

Update: I have read The Maid, Reckless Girls, The Last House on the Street, and A Flicker in the Dark. I am currently reading Josh and Gemma Make a Baby (63%) and am still planning to read Where the Drowned Girls Go. The last two are still maybes.

Kristie,
Thanks for your comments and reviews. I had not heard much about A Flicker in the Dark, so your review was really helpful. Much appreciated.

Same here! I'm really looking forward to Diamond Eye too.

I've been reading more contemporary romance lately, I usually like to mix them in with my heavier reads for a break, but lately I've been adding more of them to my reading plans.

I have quite a few coming out this month that I want to read and a bunch of 'maybes' as well.

I have The Homewreckers, My Wife Is Missing, and The Final Hunt to read through NetGalley right now.

I also want to read Book Lovers, Something Wilder, The Unplanned Life of Josie Hale, and Our Little World. I also want to read The Cherry Robbers and Carolina Moonset, which I have through Bookish.

I may want to read The Island at some point, but it's not high priority at the moment. I also have Just Like Mother, Breathless, At the Quiet Edge, and Take Your Breath Away on my maybe read list.

The Homewreckers by Mary Kay Andrews My Wife Is Missing by D.J. Palmer The Final Hunt by Audrey J. Cole Book Lovers by Emily Henry Something Wilder by Christina Lauren The Unplanned Life of Josie Hale by Stephanie Eding Our Little World by Karen Winn The Cherry Robbers by Sarai Walker Carolina Moonset by Matt Goldman
The Island by Adrian McKinty Just Like Mother by Anne Heltzel Breathless by Amy McCulloch At the Quiet Edge by Victoria Helen Stone Take Your Breath Away by Linwood Barclay

I have quite a few I plan to read that publish in July.

I have already read DIY Resin Crafting Projects and Holy Chow. I enjoyed them both a lot and would recommend them.

I am currently reading The Bodyguard. Then I have Things We Do in the Dark, Upgrade, Bad City: Peril and Power in the City of Angels, and Fatal Witness, which is the next book (#7) in the Detective Erika Foster series, to read next. I hope to read most of these in July.

I am also interested in The Family Remains, The Big Dark Sky, The 6:20 Man, and maybe Paradise Girls, The Brighter the Light, and The Kingdoms of Savannah, because the cover always grabs my attention for some reason. I also have The Secret Witness from Prime, which I hope to get to eventually.

Phew! That was a lot. Not sure why everything is coming out this month!

I just saw that we got an extra free book through Prime this month! I almost missed it. I very quickly picked up The Brighter the Light. Yeah! I love when we get two on a month that offers two I want to read. :)

Cammy | 161 comments For the August new releases, I was able to read The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean The Book Eaters and Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister Wrong Place Wrong Time. Both were very good books! The imagination in The Book Eaters was amazing for me. And the story in Wrong Place Wrong Time was intriguing. I gave both 5 stars.

I have The Fortunes of Jaded Women by Carolyn Huynh The Fortunes of Jaded Women to read in September.
