Dungeons & Dragons Experiment discussion

More than 500 years ago plans of doors and gnomes made an agreement not as the Phandalvers packed .By which they would share a rich mind and wondrous caverns known as the wave echo cave. In addition to its mineral wealth the mind contained great magical power Humans spell casters allowed themselves with the doors and the gnomes the channel and bind that energy into a great forge called the forge of spells We're magic items could be crafted. Times were good and the nearby human town of  Phandalin prospered as well . But the disaster struck when orcs swept through the north and weighed ways to all in their path. a powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenaries Wizards attacked  wave echo cave seize its riches and magical treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf with no allies to defend the forage of spells. And ensuring spell battles destroyed much of the cavern. You survived in the cave end and trimmers and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.


    For centuries, rumors of buried witches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around but no one ever succeeded in locating the lost mind. In recent years people have resettled the area . Phandalin is now a rough and tumble frontier town More important the rock secret brothers the trio doors have discovered the entrance to the wave echo cave and they intend to reopen the minds .Unfortunately for the rock seekers they are not the only ones interestingly the coca cave. A mysterious villain known as the black spider controls a network of bandits gangs and goblin tribes in the area . and his agents have followed the rock seekers to their prize Now the black spider wants it okay for himself and he is taking over to make sure no one else knows where it is.

Cricket stood atop a three-legged stool, which in turn stood precariously on the counter of his small shop. He was trying not to fall as he leaned over to hang the end of a large yellow banner that marked a new sale. "Whoa now!" He hooked a loop of twine at the corner of the banner around an exposed nail in the wall then reached for the hammer at his belt. Unfortunately, it wasn't there. "Hmm..." He turned his head to spot it laying on a display case in the middle of the shop. He let go of the banner and began climbing down. The stool slipped, however, and Cricket only prevented himself from falling by grabbing quickly onto the dangling banner. The loop began to slip off the nail. "Oh dear!" Cricket groaned. "Please someone help me!"

Titus was perusing the shops and places around town. Idly people watching as his own mind occupied him. He was not poor but if he misspent his money, he would be begging on the streets. He was a travelling cleric. Helping to heal people and console them with religious advice for a reasonable fee. After all he needed to eat. He could also defend himself, but he was not a great fighter. As he walked around the shops. He noticed a gnomes having fallen over on his display. Calling out for help. "Oh here you go." Titus says to him as he went and helped the gnome recover.

"Ah! Thank you kindly, Good Sir!" Cricket exclaimed as he caught his breath. "My name's Cricket. I'm the proprietor of Cricket's Trinkets, a subsidiary of Kermillion's Tchotchkes!" He named as he introduced himself and his family's business. "In exchange for your service, I'd like to provide one of my own. How may I repay your kindness... er, Stranger?"

((You catch cricket easily before putting him on the ground. ))

Titus smiled at Cricket. "Nice to meet you Cricket. I'm Titus a wandering healer." He said shaking his hand firmly. "Oh it was not much aid that I performed for you. I usually get paid in for for small works and money for larger works. So I suppose what food do you have here that you can spare? Perhaps we could enjoy a meal and conversation?" He offered with a smile.

Rita was walking pass, her hood over her head. She was looking around at all the different shops and markets while all at the same time trying to keep her hoodie over her hair and eyes, she had told her pet Hellfire to wait for her outside on the other side of the town hoping that he wouldn't get hurt or someone or something had attacked him

Cricket chuckled at Titus' suggestion. "Ah, yes, that would be lovely! I could go for a lunch break. Any suggestions? Or would you like me to choose? Have you any dietary restrictions?"

Titus smiled and stood up. "No I have no dietary restrictions. And I am sure you know this place better than me. feel free to choose where we eat." He Said to Cricket.

Cricket thought for a moment. "How about the Blue Rooster Inn and Tavern? They're pretty much the best of everything. You've absolutely gotta try the pies." He chuckled. "All of them, if possible. Advisably not all at once, or even in the same sitting."

Titus smiled and nodded. "I love pie. That sounds great. Lead the way Cricket." Titus said happily as he was longing for a good meal.

"Personally, I could go for a shepherd's pie or a chicken pot pie followed by a cherry pie." Cricket took up the lead and rubbed his hand together with anticipation.

Rosary walks in happily and asks cricket ((i’m assuming that they know each other since they both have businesses in the same town)) “got any new trinkets for me to put up in the tavern?” she says in an Australian accent “and i could definitely go for some shepherds pie right now”

“oh looks like y’all are headed out, mind if i join y’all? i just got on my lunch break, by the way i’m rosara” she says to the unfamiliar face

Titus smiled and shook Rosara's hand. "I don't mind at all, more company means more stories." He said happily, then turned back to Cricket. "Chicken pot pie sounds expensive. I am honored that you would treat me to such a luxury. I too would love cherry pie as well. It sounds like a great lunch." He said happily.

((Cricket speaks in a stereotypical Irish Leprechaun accent.))

Cricket reached up to shake Rosara's hand. "Good morning, Rosara! Nice of you to join us today! I built a cuckoo clock yesterday." He scratched the back of his head. "The brass roses are probably a bit much. Gaudy really. But you're welcome to have it." He smiled up at her.
Then he returned his attention to Titus. "You saved my life or at least one of my bones, and for that, I refuse to be stingy."

“Nice to meet you too Titus!” Rosara says as she shakes his hand “I would love it for my place, as long as it isn’t too loud, don’t want to hear *makes loud bird noises* late into the night.” she says while walking with the two guys

Titus chuckled from cricket's words. "Thanks, I really appreciate the good food." He said then smiled and nodded at Rosara shaking his hand. "So Rosara, what do you do here in town? I am a traveler and am eager to meet people here. Half orcs are strong, so you must be very useful here." He said to her with a smile.

“Well I used to be a soldier but I moved back here to my hometown and built my own tavern from the ground up, i’m usually there all the time but I decided to at least let myself have lunch breaks to go to other places around the city.” rosara replies

((Im just going to start the quest since we're wating on someone to make a character. ))

a dwarf named Gundern Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagon loader for visions to the refined tumble settlement of  Phandalin.A couple of days travel Southeast of the city. Gundern was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip saying only that he and his brothers have found something big and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for exporting his supplies safely to bargain provisions at a trading post in Fideland. He then set out ahead on horseback along with a warrior escort named Phil Dan Hall Winter claiming he needed to arrive early to take care of business. You have spent the last few days following the high roads south from Neverwinter and you're just recently weird east along the Tribor Trail. You have encountered no trouble so far but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and Outlaws have been known to look along the trail.

Titus smiled as Rosara replied to him. "That sounds like a lot of fun. You must get many visitors and have many stories to tell." He says to her with a smile. Then stopped as a dwarf approached them. He asked them if they could help him transport things. Titus was about to ask the dwarf more questions. But then he ran off and went ahead to the next town. Titus then looks around to the others to see if they will join him on this journey.

"Oh, I don't know if I'd be much good as a packmule,"Cricket said mockingly flexing a bicep. "But I'm good at running inventory." He volunteered eagerly.

as the dwarf stopped in front of the three to ask for their help Rosara almost walked right into him and stumbled backwards into a defensive stance. once he finished telling them what to do and ran off Rosara stated in a confused voice as she backed out of her stance “well that was weird, i don’t know if i trust this guy”

Titus nodded from Rosara's words. then laughed at Cricket's words. "well Society is built on trust and well if we have a half orc soldier on our side. I'm sure we will be safe." He says teasing Rosara. "But you are right Cricket. I hope he left us a mule and cart at least. I'll get exhausted if I have to lug crates around."

((rolled a 9+2=11 for perception to look for a mule and cart with the supplies.))

Titus Sighed happily as he saw the cart with the mule. “Oh thanks goodness. Now we don’t need to turn one of us into a mule.” He teases them. He then went over to it. “So should we eat lunch or should we leave now?” He asked them wondering what they wanted.

"We'll take it to go." Cricket answered, not wishing to give up his chance at enjoying a shepherd's pie. "I don't see that it's a good idea not to take this opportunity as soon as possible, given that I'm sure there's a competitive market for adventurers." He walked over to the mule and looked up at it, trying to disern its quality.

It is a pretty decent Mule even though its getting on in years.

((yep)) Once Rosara saw the mule she looked at it and said “eh, this one’ll do” and picks it up onto her shoulder ((like how Luisa does in Encanto, for a strength check i rolled 8+2= 10))

Sadly you try to pick him up but him being stubborn made it to were you couldn't get a good grip.

((i’ll continue on my turn for this message and then the next person can go)) after dropping the mule by accident she puts it back to a regular standing position and wipes of some dirt off the mule’s back “oh um sorry mule”

It glares at you before eating some grass on the ground.

Titus laughed from the silly display of Rosara. "You may be strong but apparently not that strong." He said with a laugh. "If you want Cricket could you grab the food? I can stand guard here and make sure Rosara and the mule get along." He said with a laugh as he went to examine the supplies making sure they were not transporting anything volatile.

Nothing to out of the ordinary just mining equipment and rations until you reach a locked chest.

Titus is intrigued by the locked chest in the cart. He turns to the others. “Do either of you have lock pick tools? Or mage hand?” He asked them wondering why was inside.

Cricket nodded eagerly and hurried off to pick up meals for the trio. He carefully made his way back so as not to ruin it and distributed it accordingly. He looked to Titus' vestments. "We'll eat once you say a pray for us." Then he turned to the chest that held everyone's attention. He studied it to discern if anything was different about it, ((17+6=23 investigation. If something seems amiss, I'll do an arcana check 17+4=21.))

Its a normal looking chest other than a crest on the lid. Looking more carefully you can tell it is the crestof a goblin clan that lives nearby.

Titus nodded as Criket came back and asked him to Pray for them. He prayed and thanked the divine forces and to bless their meal. Then he looked with Cricket and nodded as he spoke about the goblin seal on the chest. "What do you suppose that means?" He asked the group, wondering if it was ill gotten.

((could i make a history check on the goblin seal to see if i know anything about them?))

This clan of goblins were known to be very sneaky. They have also been known to burn down villages to get what they want. The clan name is the everdeen but are known most by the great Shadow.

“that’s the symbol of the everdeen clan, i had an assignment dealing with them a couple years ago. They’re really annoying and love setting things on fire” Rosara says while looking at the symbol

Titus looked at the chest, then at Rosara. "Do you suppose this is a tribute chest or have the goblins discovered banking?" He asked the group as he wondered if this merchant was trying to pay off the goblins from attacking them. "I don't like the idea of attracting goblins." Titus said as he was afraid that they might be in danger.
