Cool! Let us know what you think. I saw that on Audible, but wasn't sure if I was in the mood for that kind of story. There's funny ha-ha and omg that's too dumb to be funny. I think it could go either way. Hoping it's more funny ha-ha.
Dakota Krout has a new series coming out. Currently there are 3 books slated to be released.Year of the Sword:

GR doesn't have the books listed yet. I could add the books to GR, but Krout team will probably get that done sooner vs later. =P

Total hearsay, but I heard that there may be one release per month coming out from Dakota Krout in 2022. It'll be interesting to see that happen! Hopefully, more books I like vs not. Sadly, no word on my fav series, the Completionist Chronicles.

LOL - Who would want a quest like that?!?! I am amused.
This LitRPG has great little twists that I haven't read before and that makes it fun to read. Even with the somewhat iffy translation from Korean to English. =D

LOL I always wonder at the translation when I'm reading something like that. Especially with some slangs/sayings.
Interesting to use bugs for comparison here though
Hyun/Weed named himself Weed because he thinks it's accurate to label himself as a common plant that grows everywhere. XDOne of the running jokes is that he has terrible taste in names. When he creates something and gives it life, he needs to name it. Names end up being what he made. He did a series of wyverns and called them Wyvern1/2/3/etc. LOL
He has a very... unique personality:) I really enjoy figuring out what he might do next;)

No, but i am fairly new to LitRPG.

LitRPG is a new genre for stories that have game mechanics or take place within a game setting.
There's a discussion about the genre being called LitRPG or Gamelit. To me, the names have slightly different meanings, and I prefer LitRPG because that seems to be the larger umbrella for books with game elements.
Come on by and chat about the books you love and hate in LitRPG! =)
LitRPG has exploded in the last few years. Majority of the writers are indie authors and mostly self-published. Several of the authors have developed successful careers as writers and started their own publication companies.
Most LitRPG books takes place with a character going into a game and having adventures. There's a huge variety of styles in the genre now. If you can think of a game type, you can probably find a LitRPG that features it.
Examples of Different Story Types:
- The world is transformed into a game. People get status menus and can level up skills/abilities.
- Character dies and is reborn in a world that works like a game.
- Character wakes up in a new world, tries to figure out how to deal with leveling and maybe try to get back home.
- Story takes place primarily in a game: RPG, strategy (developing town/fight against dangers/evolving dungeon/etc), fighting/PVP, etc.
*Cultivation stories are not necessarily LitRPG. However, most of them have some type of leveling involved. You'll find some cultivation books talked about and listed here.
