Here is the place to discuss retellings, traditional tales, or books inspired by the mythology, folklore, or fairy tales of Africa

I will be reading 2 books for this category. Normally I would read a book each from a different country, but when there are 2 books out by one of my favourite authors, Nnedi Okorafor, I just can't help myself. I will be reading Akata Woman and Noor

There are 2 books by African authors on the Endicot Mythic Fiction list:
The God Who Begat a Jackal: A Novel by Nega Mezlekia I read a few years ago. The author is Ethiopian and The Palm-Wine Drinkard & My Life in the Bush of Ghosts by Amos Tutuola which I have not read yet.

Marta (martola) | 31 comments I've read Toutula in Italian, I remember the language is very peculiar so it takes some time to get used to it, and there is a tale about skulls that I enjoyed quite much
