If you've read People We Meet on Vacation, here are some questions to get the conversation started: 1. Poppy and Alex are so different. What do you think drew them together as friends?
2. While traveling is really fun there’s also a question of running away from something when you’re always on the road. What was Poppy running away from?
3. Why did it take so long for Poppy and Alex to finally express and show each other how they truly feel?
4. The author said When Harry Met Sally… was behind the inspiration for the book. If you’ve seen the movie, what are the similarities between the two?
Where did Emily Henry get the inspiration for her new novel, People We Meet on Vacation? Find out after the link: https://www.readmoreco.com/blogs/auth....

Opposites do attract. I think that's very true for Poppy and Alex. She needed someone to keep her grounded and he needed someone to draw him out. A good match.Poppy seemed to be running from intimacy and settling, as well as getting away from her hometown. She loved her parents and family, but she didn't like her old town.
Poppy and Alex were incredibly good friends and they didn't want that connection to go away. They were also friends for ten years (!!!) before they realized how they felt, although Alex knew sooner. Alex didn't want to admit his feelings if Poppy didn't feel the same. It's a big sigh moment, but I get the fear.
There are definite similarities with the film "When Harry Met Sally..." Friends for so long that feelings developed, but they don't want to lose the friendship. But how will they ever know?

It's not all about sex. The romance genre has long been a ridiculed subject, especially by literary snobs or the uninitiated. Many think of Danielle Steel, Nora Roberts, or Robyn Carr. However, romance (especially today) has surprised many readers with unique voices, complex characters, and imaginative stories. Romance goes beyond just the romantic angle (though that is very much still the crux of the story). Romance has explored LGBTQ+, historical fiction, time travel, fantasy, vampires, werewolves, etc.
Which romance titles are you reading this month? Please include the title, author, and publication date. You can review the work or just talk about it. Here are some questions to get started.
1. Why did you select and read this book?
2. Would you recommend this book to others?
3. What is it about romance stories that attract so many readers? Or, why does romance repel many readers?
