My top favorite 2022. Newbery contenders are The Beatryce Prophecy by Kate Dicamillo, Merci suárez Can't Dance by Meg Medina, Pony by R.J. Palacio, Lion of Mars by Jennifer L. Holm, and Ground Zero by Alan Gratz.

I have to add The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera. It is not getting as much buzz/love as it should. This title might surprise everyone.

I believe that according to the rules of Newbery committees- we are to choose three? This is such a casual group- choosing more is always good, in my opinion such as it is!
