[ p ] people like to tell Zane that he's a good explanation of the day of his birth. It started out quiet and cold, rather calm. But then everyone got comfortable, and it spiked up. It was hot. And then the Queen went into labor, and things got pretty interesting. The first baby was a wild little girl. And the next? A quiet little boy. Zane was a very calm baby. He didn't cry often and tended to watch things around him. He was the baby everyone liked because he wasn't a bother. He didn't vomit on anyone or throw tantrums when he didn't get his way. And he was smart. "Zane! Where's your nose? Mouth? Belly button" The nurses would ask, and Zane would point to whatever it was they were asking for. There was really only an issue when Zane's twin sister, BLANK, began learning how to speak more, but Zane barely uttered a single word a day. It wasn't until a maid that took care of Zane learned he was just quiet. Zane had been crying about a vase he had broken, and when she asked what happened, he spoke perfectly fine. That's when everyone learned he was quiet.

Growing up was very simple and pretty much stereotypical for Zane. He was one boy in the sea of children that were his siblings and cousins. He got along with them all fairly well, and they all seemed to like him. Sometimes royals from other countries came, with their sons and daughters. All the boys liked Zane, they thought he was cool. And the girls? Well, let's just say Zane inherited the good looks of his father. Honestly, Zane can't say he's met a princess that hasn't been attracted to him. His father likes to joke with him and say that their good looks are not only a blessing but a curse as well. His childhood was simple, learning how to be royal and live your life in a sophisticated manner. At first, when Zane was a child, he was actually much different then how he is now. He was more excited and loved everything, and he was run and joke and laugh all the time! He was the little clown of the family, a little boy with nothing but a smile and eyes full of excitement. Zane was happy and fun, full of energy and this "spunk" all the little boys in Illea wished they possessed. It was the way he was, a generally liked person. He liked attention and he liked to make people smile. He liked when people talked to him or looked at him, and in return for them doing so he'd make them smile or laugh. In fact, Zane made the entire country laugh. But everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

No one is entirely sure what happened, but whatever it was, it caused Zane to shut up. He quieted down, he stopped joking. He went from being everyone's friend to just being there all the time. His siblings, his friends, even his own mother couldn't get it out of him why he was so different. But it was who he was. Zane had changed, and maybe, not for the better. He closed off his family for the better part of a year, turning into a man of few words. He still spoke to them and participated in events, just quieter. He did what he was asked of, and didn't ask for much in return. After s lot of begging, he opened back up to them a bit, much more than he did to pretty much anyone. In fact, he was only himself if they were absolutely alone. Otherwise he was someone else.

Zane is now sixteen years old. Since birth, he has grown and gained muscle, he may at times be found with facial hair, but only if he is working on something else and forgets about his hygenic obsessions. Zane, as hot as he is, is actually very single. His father has opened it up to him to marry a princess from some far away country, but Zane has polietly declined and said he'll keep that in mind. Who will be his wife? What woman will come around and see who Zane really is, beneath the Prince? Someone need's to teach this Prince that just because he has a title doesn't mean he can't be himself.

PEOPLE DON'T NEED TITLES especially people like Zane. Since Zane learned of who he was, he's been very mindful of the way he lives. Why, his childhood was videotaped. Can you imagine, being completely new to life and being watched by a camera? You got your first haircut? BAM, the whole castle knows. You said your first word? The whole province is saying it with you. You took your first steps? The entire country watched you take it. It wasn't so much that someone told Zane to be like this, it was more that he felt he needed to play the part if people were watching. And so he develpoed into the mysterious prince. The one who looks the part but just stands quietly to the sidelines.

Album testing was listening to a new album, at least twice, to see if it was good, and picking out the best tracks. Song testing, a similar practice, was more difficult. Usually, you start on a playlist or album, or even just one song you like. Then turn on the 'play similar' feature, and allow the listening platform to search high and low for similar songs, some you may know, and some you don't. This was how Theodore always found his new music. It was difficult because each song only gets one listen, but it's a faster way to get through artists and start on a path with a foundation you already enjoy.
