not really sure how i’m gonna read 50 books in a year. i wanna make sure i’m reading for the right reasons though because i don’t ever wanna read a book just for the sake of reading a book. really, i would be very satisfied with myself if i read the same amount or more books i read in 2021. i am committed to the cause, however.

at the moment, i typically read a chapter at a time but i’m definitely gonna need to increase that if i want any hope of reaching 50.

i did some research online to see how other people read a lot and from what i’ve gathered, it seems to boil down to:
- read when you actually want to read
- don’t be discouraged if you don’t reach your reading goal
- read books you enjoy
- use time that is less important for reading (like mindlessly scrolling through your phone)
- audiobooks during commutes (i’m considering this starting this one)
- if you’re reading non-fiction and you already know about a topic being covered, skip it
- reading multiple books at the same time

hope this helps you reach your reading goals :-)

Jonathan | 2 comments Heck yes. Doing the math if you read 50 pages a day you could read 52 books that are 350 pages long in a year. That’s a single 350 page book per week. A lot of books aren’t even close to 350 pages and some weeks you could probably finish 2 books with those numbers. Might end up being a lot of time every day depending on the book you’re reading but it’s been helping me so far!

Wisteria | 11 comments I'll definitely be reading a lot of poetry/short story books. As I find them entertaining to read, and often very overlooked and eye opening. Things like that will help push things along.

I'd also recommend getting into a series of books, like the Witcher- or anything by Karen Miller, particularly the Empress series, as it will push things a long because all of the books are thrilling to read and leave you wanting to grab the next book off the shelf.

Kelly Dunsmore | 4 comments Now that it’s a far bit into the year, I’ve noticed that while I’m not on track to do 50 in 50 I’ve also read more this year than I have in years, and probably wouldn’t have without this idea jump starting me. I’m still going to try to just see how many I can get, but really seeking out books has improved my general ✨well being✨. Before this I’ve also struggled with finding books to read, and didn’t know where to start. Now I feel like I’ve tapped into some veins of genres and authors, which was the harder aspect of things before personally. Glad 2 be reading with y’all <3
