The Awakening discussion

Interested in reading an Lj Smith book, but there are so many different series: Night World, Vampire Diaries, Dark Visions, the Secret Circle... where does a poor girl start?? Do all of the series tie together with characters or simply a common theme? Is there an order to the series or should I start with the one most highly recommended?

I would be grateful for any insight or opinions. =)

Anyone? At least a nudge in the right direction?

I have read vampire diaries and night world. I really enjoyed the night world series there are 9 short stories altogether and they do all tie together eventually. The stories are quite short but the characters are so well written that i loved each one. you can get the stories in books of threes that way it's cheaper : ) also the last story in the series should be coming out some time next year (book 10). The vampire diaries series is completely different with a similar theme to twilight. I liked this series too and would recommend it. The most recent book in the series nightfall: the return is like the second chapter and was one of my favourite VD books. Whichever series you end up reading start at the first book so you can get to know the characters and their background.

I love, love, love The Night World series! I also enjoyed reading The Forbidden Game and Dark Visions. If you're into vampires, witches and shapeshifters, you should start reading The Night World series :)

i love the tv show vampire diaries and books

i'm currently suffering the reading of nightfall and it's horrible. the first three books were okay-ish , but if you intend to continue reading past those three, i wouldn't recommend starting it.

basically this is the last time i'm touching lj smith's work.

when it comes to night world it doesnt really matter which one you pick up first but its always more fun when you read it from the begining, all the books by L.J Smith follow a similar vein but arent really interconnected to my knowledge, of course i recommend just reading everything you can by l.j smith the forbidden game was awesome too, i just love her writing style the are the perfect series for teen girls and young adult women :) Im 25 and have been reading them all since i was 16 and im not going to lie i still LOVE them, sooooooo much better then twilight

Ok so I love watching Vampire Diaries so I would love to read the series. Can anyone write the books in order for me? I can find them all for my Kindle but they don't seem to have any numbers. Thanks

this is the entire series in order as written by L.J Smith, now any other book that is Vampire diaries that comes out in the future will be writen by a ghost writer, some vampire diaries books have already been written ghost this is the current list of those....Stefan's Diaries

But these books really dont add much to the series (from what i heard) so if you dont get a chance to read them (like i havent) then you will be just fine, The books and the tv show are really nothing like eachother i think thats why these books were added on to kinda makes unity but i really dont appreate the book company taking the rights to vampire diaries away from L.J Smith and making some other person create her vision for her cause its just plan wrong, personally i would rather wait 10 years to read how the series ends by L.j herself then wait a few weeks for some other person to end it (i mean i could write my own ending if i was that desperate) anyways thats the list in proper order for you Melissa i hope you enjoy the series, Shizuka i really cant help you because i dont know excat times or anything honestly ive only seen a few epsiodes of the show from season one and thats it (at this point) but i know the new season is playing now so be sure to check your tv listings :)
