After years of research and, frankly, fearful procrastination, I finally wrote the book I first envisioned in 2006: The Pirate Davy Jones. I realized there was no definitive backstory to the great legend, so I set about creating one. Clearly, he would need to be a pirate at some point, but I wanted to describe his more humble beginning and how he was transformed through his experience with pirates. It's a work of historical fiction, with real pirates doing what they did, but I do take a few liberties to make the plot work. This is the first of three planned books.
