:Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: discussion

This is the main First Floor corridor to the left side. Students often go down this way as a shortcut to the dungeons; usually used to get to Potions class quicker.

Bella was walking with a book in her face, not paying attention to her surroundings or where she was going. She still had a couple of minutes before she had to be down in the dorm rooms, and she wasn’t going to spend a second of her free time there if she didn’t have to. She was so engrossed in her novel, she didn’t see the figure standing in the hallway. Bella walked straight into them, and next thing she knew, her book was on the floor and so was she.

Saturn wobbles slightly when she runs into him but he doesn't fall over, quickly having put a hand on the wall to stop himself. He turns in her direction and sees her on the floor. "Oh my gods! Are you alright??" He exclaims picking up her book with one hand and holding out his other to help her up.

Bella looked up to see a pretty individual with bright pink hair staring at her with a worried expression. She was embarrassed for not watching where she was walking but took the persons hand regardless. “Uh, yeah. I am. Are you? I’m sorry! I wasn’t paying attention. There’s not usually anyone down here, and I just thought I’d be by myself as everyone is—“ Bella stopped herself when she realized she was rambling on about nothing. She stood up, and the pink-haired person handed her back her book, not before reading the title, though. ((A Touch of Darkness))

He chuckles "No need to apologize, no one was hurt right?" he asks trying to make sure she was all right. "What are you reading this for?" he questions reading the title and frowning, he looks up again looking her over and taking in her uniform.

“It’s one of my favorites. I know I’m a witch, and I’m at a school for magic and everything, but greek mythology is so cool to me. This book is a Hades and Persephone retelling. It’s a muggle book, and my family would never allow it. Please don’t tell them!” Bella’s eyes got wide as she realized she didn’t know this person or if they would rat her out to her family. Draco would probably keep her secret as he was as scared of what their father would do to her as she was. Diana, though. Diana she didn’t know about. She looked at them and figured they were about 15 or 16, but she had never seen them at Hogwarts before.

He laughs in shock "Why would I tell your parents? I don't even know who you are. Also, good book. I love Hades and Persephone retellings." He says nodding approvingly.

“O-oh. Well. Fair point,” She thought about how the persons view about her might change if she told them who her parents were. She decided against it. “I’m Isabella. I go by Bella, and sometimes Rey.”

"Saturn at your service, Bella" he says bowing to her. He takes her hand in his left hand, his blue ring obvious on his finger as he kisses her hand. He has an amused smile on his face and a teasing look in his brown eyes as he straightens up.

Bella, looked him dead in the eye, amused. This was the first time anything like that had happened to her, and instead of being flustered, she just laughed. “Hi, Saturn. You have a cool name.” She smiled a warm smile at them.

"Why thank you" He says with a grin happy that he had amused her. "So why are you wondering around here and not in the Slytherin common room?" He questions

“Err, well, the slytherin common room isn’t the best place to hang out around if you don’t have any friends,” This time she did laugh nervously. She should’ve lied, but for some reason she felt like she could tell the truth without being judged with him.

"It might not help in the common room but you definitely have one friend at least." He says with a smile not judging her in the least. "Saturn, Bella's friend at your service" he teases.

A short, eleven year old Gryffindor ran into them, and fell over. He stood up with a scowl. Then, the boy looked over at the two, much older students and opened his mouth to speak, but closed it. He seemed suddenly very worried he would get hexed. The weird thing was that the boy had a small, miniature bear on his shoulder.

Once again, the kind soul had made her laugh. A genuine laugh, one caused from a living person, not a book or letter from her mother. Crazy. “Well now you’ve spoiled it. I cant complain about having no friends anymore,” She teased.

Bella suddenly stumbled into Saturn. “Oh goodness!” She looked around for the sudden cause of disturbance, seeing a young boy, not any older than a first year. She softened realizing she had been in his exact shoes only moments earlier. “Hello,” she said to him. “Are you alright?”

He chuckles. "Oh my goodness, everyone is just running in to each other today!" he exclaims amused when he sees the Gryffindor. "Are you alright there?" he asks

The Gryffindor didn’t speak. He was immensely scared, and it was very easy to tell he was a muggle-born. “I—I—“ He stuttered, and slowly began backing away. He was one of the boys whom had been just now sorted, and obviously wanted to get away from all the commotion. He kept looking between the two of them, unable to answer at all.

Bella sensed the boy’s uneasiness immediately. She spoke softly. “Hey there, don’t be scared. We won’t hurt you.” She glanced at Saturn before gingerly stepping towards the frightened boy. “Please, let me help you. Where are you going?”

"Your new aren't you?" He says noticing how young he looked. "Its alright, we are nice." he says still standing away from the boy though so not to scare him

He faintly nodded. “O-okay.. I.. I don’t really know where I’m going. Someone told me to go to a portrait thing? But there’s a l-lot of them here and I-I got confused and l-lost..” He muttered.

Bella knew where most of the common rooms were from just having explored the castle so many times. There was no way this boy was a slytherin, and he didn’t seem quite like a ravenclaw either. He had to be Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. “I can help you there. Now, which house are you in?” She asked and outreached her hand, purely to see if the boy trusted her enough to take it, and if he did, to show him that she meant no harm.

"My guess is a Gryffin seeing as they said portrait." He says stepping forward slightly. "We will help you get to your common room" He says reassuringly

He looked at Bella, then at Saturn, and back at Bella. He noticed she had outstretched her hand, and the bear on his shoulder started whispering to the boy. He hesitantly took Bella’s hand. “Common.. Room?..” He tilted his head at Saturn.

Bella held the boys hand, not tightly, but as if to say “you’re safe with me.” She looked at him and smiled as the three of them started walking towards the staircase that would lead them to the Fat Lady. “I’m Bella, and this is Saturn. What’s your name?” She noticed the bear on the boys shoulder and quickly added, “And what’s your friend’s name?”

“I-I’m.. Gregory..” The boy named ‘Gregory’ had spoken gently. “This is Freddy. It’s nice to.. uhm.. meet.. you both?..” He hadn’t had much social interaction in his life, so he seemed nervous to not only communicate, but to just speak in general. “I met s-someone named Thomas not t-too long ago, but I didn’t know how t-to ask him where I sh-should go..”

"Oh no one must have told you. So you were sorted into your house, which is Gryffindor I am assuming since it is the only common room behind a portrait. The common rooms are were people in your house hang out a lot, it is also the way to get to your dorms." He explains walking over.

Bella laughed quietly. “It’s not to worry. It’s nice to meet you and Freddy. You can ask me anytime for directions or what to do. I’m going to guess you’re a muggle born.” They reached the grand staircase and started to climb

Gregory nodded, understanding what Saturn was speaking of. “Uh.. Muggleborn?” Gregory asked tentatively. “Freddy, what’s a Muggleborn?” The boy whisper-asked the bear on his shoulder. “Someone born from non-wizarding folks, Gregory,” “Oh..”

Ashamed, she quickly said, “It’s nothing to be worried or ashamed of! It just means your parents weren’t witches or wizards, and you are. I didn’t mean anything by it!” She looked away, worried she’d made the small boy feel bad or dislike her.

"You really worry too much Bella, I don't think he thought you meant anything bad by it. Right?" He asks turning to the boy. "Nice bear by the way" he says nodding to Freddy

She nodded nervously. “Bad habit of mine. I don’t want to scare my friends away before we even have a chance to be friends, but you’re right.” The climbed the long staircase, almost arriving at the Fat Lady’s portrait.

“N-no, It’s alright.” Gregory shrugged. Then Freddy spoke to Saturn, “I take that as a well-deserved compliment.” Gregory rolled his brown eyes, and an unusual staircase came into view. “Holy—“

Bella looked at Gregory and just laughed. “Pretty grand, isn’t it?” She observed Gregory’s wide, awestruck expression. She wished her brother would let her act like an older sister instead of pushing her away.

He laughs at Freddy's comment. "So what are you? I have never meet such a, how should I put it... educated? Bear before." He says

“This is real?!” Gregory, having lived in a cardboard box his whole life, was extremely shocked. “There’s no way!—Are the stairs moving?!”
Freddy responded to Saturn. “I’m not sure myself. Some witch put a spell on me, and I can change sizes as well.”

Bella nodded her head at Saturn’s comment. “I have to admit, I’m a tad bit curious myself. I have never seen something quite like it before.” She turned to Gregory and added, “Yes! Those stairs are moving, and if you’re not careful, they’ll move while you’re standing on them and deter you from where you’re trying to go.”

"Interesting, and you just choose to sit on this kids shoulder all the time?" He asks. Watching the bear curiously. He chuckles hearing Gregory's comment "The new kids excitement is cute to watch" he thinks to himself

She watched Saturn and Freddy converse back and forth, listening to their conversation. She thought to herself *So, this is what it’s like to have friends.* She smiled to herself, knowing she would go to sleep happy tonight.

“It’s just easier for me to follow him that way, and if someone tries hurting him they won’t expect it when I change sizes.” Freddy hopped off Gregory’s shoulder and turned to the size of an average bear cubs height and weight. “Gregory, you better move, the stairs are gonna get you.” Gregory had seemed to listen to Freddy in an instant, and went up a few stairs.

He smiles. "That's sweet, that you are protecting and looking after the kid" he says. "I think we are pretty much there" He says seeing the portrait.

“He found me when he was really young. He doesn’t really have parents, Gregory, so I took him into my own paws.” Freddy looked up and spotted the Fat Lady portrait. “Gregory, I heard the Prefect say the password was..” Freddy went onto his hind legs and whispered it to Gregory, then went back down on all fours. “Okay.” Gregory sighed, and walked up to the portrait. He then turned to Saturn and Bella. “Thanks.”

Bella suddenly realized that she didn’t know the password, and considering the boy barely knew his house, she wasn’t sure if he knew it either. Worriedly, she asked, “Gregory, do you know the password?”
