Fred (fredgoodwin) | 2 comments Read this in the 90s, pretty sure it was a series. A reporter (I think, and perhaps the report is the lead in the other books) visits the island owned by a Billionaire who has built an analog computer that uses light instead of ones and zeros. Computer was in a series of caves. Think the computer becomes sentient, and the billionaire is nuts.

Its a thriller like Dan Brown, anything else I can remember is really sketchy.
