Ines wrote: "I finished The love hypothesis! I really liked reading it and I feel like it was a fast read! It’s nice reading a romance book where the main character is v badass and smart (imo). I gave it a 5/5!..."I loved The Love Hypothesis! It was probably one of my favorite reads last year!
Imperfect Chemistry - Mary Frame - 3I wanted to like this one more than I did. It took at least 4 chapters before I understood the main character well enough to like her and the entire book felt like it was coming along in fits and starts. Even so, It did make me chuckle a few times throughout so, good enough.
I read D.E. Stevenson’s Kate Hardy. I always enjoy books where DES’s heroine has a profession (here, an author of adventure stories who writes under a male pseudonym). I also have a soft spot for books in which a house or cottage becomes a character in its own right. In addition to the romance(s), the book grapples with the nature of marriage; male partners who seem fine at first but aren’t good options to go the distance; wives with wanderlust; and the changing class system of postwar Britain.
While not my favorite DES, Kate Hardy is a very engaging read and a “romance” with more flung on than just the relationship.
If You Ask Me by Libby Hubscher Loved Meet Me in Paradise by this author but this one fell short for me on so many levels.
I read The Kiss Quotient for this box. It's about a woman with autism who hires a male escort to help her with her own perceived social ineptitude but honestly it's just a perfectly romantic story about two people who just really get and accept everything about each other.
I just finished reading Sprinkled in the Stars for this square.I did enjoy this although this is a genre that I usually avoid.
I gave this book 3.5*
