The Myrtle Gully Circuit is one of several trails within the Toolangi State Forest in Victoria, Australia. It loops around a lush forest filled with boardwalks, creek crossings, ferns, tall mountain ash and other greenery, and you can be assured that the ground will be muddy. This February 12-13 please wear proper hiking shoes and prepare to get dirty as you trek through the rainforest. Look out for possible streams flowing over the trails and keep in mind you may encounter a few obstacles over the path which may require you to duck under or climb over to get past.
Guide:
🥾All steps logged during the group hike Saturday and Sunday will convert to steps. All steps must be logged by Tuesday February 15.
🥾The total steps earned during the group hike (i.e. sum for all participants) will convert to steps for all hikers that participated in the group hike.
🥾 If you don't, or cannot use a tracker for real steps, you can submit up to 2 books finished during the Saturday-Sunday hike (book must be completed during the weekend) to receive double steps for those two books only. Books must be submitted by Tuesday after the group hike.
🥾 For those that don’t walk you can convert your exercise(s) of choice into steps. 100 cal per 2000 steps (20 steps/calorie). Note what exercises and the amount of calories burned in the completion post.

This March 12-13 the Adventure Club is going to hike the King's Little Path in Malaga, Spain. Once considered the world's most dangerous footpath, safety measures put in place over the last few decades have made the Caminito del Rey safe and accessible to most intrepid travelers. But this safe hike is still a gravity-defying 5-mile hike between gorges, canyons and valleys.
Guide:
🥾All steps logged during the group hike Saturday and Sunday will convert to steps. All steps should be logged by Tuesday March 15, or before the last call.
🥾The total steps earned during the group hike (i.e. sum for all participants) will convert to steps for all hikers that participated in the group hike.
🥾 If you don't, or cannot use a tracker for real steps, you can submit up to 2 books finished during the Saturday-Sunday hike (book must be completed during the weekend) to receive double steps for those two books only. Books must be submitted by Tuesday after the group hike.

This April 16-17 the Adventure Club is going to tea at the top of Mount Huashan. China's Mount Huashan has lured pilgrims for centuries, with only the bravest rewarded entry into the ancient temples at its summit. Since a large portion of the "plank walk" consists of narrow, wooden boards attached to the side of the mountain, hikers walk precariously along the route, holding onto rusty chains as they go. In some sections, the boardwalk disappears altogether; only shallow foot supports, carved into the rock, take their place. This is as scary as it gets, particularly if you happen to be afraid of heights.

This May 14-15 the Adventure Club is going to Tennessee to squeeze through house-sized boulders and pass tranquil waterfalls on this rugged highlands trail at the Big South Fork River. We can hope to see Echo Rock, (a large cliff face), a slot canyon (a rare geological formation in this region of the States), and Boulder House Falls.

The Adventure Club is going to enjoy an urban hike this June 11-12. Arthur’s Seat is a rough lump of volcanic rock – Edinburgh’s highest point – that looms above the city like a counterpoint to the crag supporting Edinburgh Castle. Taking time to explore Holyrood Park, the former royal park around Arthur’s Seat, we’ll walk 8km or 5 miles with views over the Scottish capital and along the Salisbury Crags, a line of cliffs across an adjoining spur.

Landmannalaugar is home to three separate trails, the most popular being a trek over the fields of volcanic rock to Brennisteinsalda. This July 16-17 the Adventure Club is going to to check out the most colorful peak in Iceland. It is a volcano and its plethora of iron, sulphur and volcanic ash give it its hue. Afterwards maybe we can check out a natural geothermal pool.
