emma I actually love every single word/sentence/quote in The Song of Achilles, but here are some I want to share rn :))

"He is half my soul, as the poets say."

“And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone.”

“I will never leave him. It will be this, always, for as long as he will let me.

“This, I say. This and this. The way his hair looked in summer sun. His face when he ran. His eyes, solemn as an owl at lessons. This and this and this. So many moments of happiness, crowding forward.” (this one!! I love this quote sm)

AAAAA The Song of Achilles is one of my favorite books, every word that Madelaine writes is poetry.

Every word in this book is ART, but there are some of my fav quotes:
-We accept the love we think we desserve
- Its just that sometimes people use thought to not participate in life
-We are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them.
The book is the perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and its great

liv | 1 comments @Lola: I'm actually reading this now and it's true. This book has such great quotes innit. I really, really enjoy it.
Although I loved "And I swear, in that moment we were infinite."
I promise it was like I saw what Charlie, Patrick and Sam saw and felt what they felt. it is absolutely awesome

Larrry G | 1 comments “Traces of nobility, gentleness and courage persist in all people, do what we will to stamp out the trend. So, too, do those characteristics which are ugly. It is just unfortunate that in the clumsy hands of a cartoonist all traits become ridiculous, leading to a certain amount of self-conscious expostulation and the desire to join battle.
There is no need to sally forth, for it remains true that those things which make us human are, curiously enough, always close at hand. Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tiny blasts of tiny trumpets, we have met the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. Forward!”
Walt Kelly, The Pogo Papers
