Pages: 197 pages

Length: 1 Month (February)

Participants: Ilona, Sunny, Lorraine .

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

Mark spoilers by placing {spoiler} before the text and {/spoiler} after the text but use the < and > instead of the { and }.

Happy Buddy Reading!

Ilona | 4698 comments Hi Sunny and Lorraine, thanks for joining this buddy read! I have already started reading and am almost halfway.
When are you planning on reading this book?

Lorraine | 2408 comments Hello Ilona. I will start tomorrow. How do you find it so far?

Keith Hi

Will start reading it later today.

Lorraine | 2408 comments I have finished the book and did enjoy the story. Not as much as The Secret Garden that I've read with some of you in January but enough to be happy I took the time to read it. I am not sure why. Maybe because it is difficult to get attached to Mr. Toad. Thank you for suggesting it.

Ilona | 4698 comments Sorry I forgot to respond!

I agree with you Lorraine! I did like it, but definitly less than The Secret Garden. The Wind in the Willows is cute, but also really strange at times, and Mr Toad got irritating at some point.
I probably would have liked it more if I had read it before as a child and had some emotional attachment. Now as an adult it just left me with a lot of questions.

Sunny | 2311 comments I'll be reading this one in the coming week. Though, I haven't read it in awhile, it's one of my favorite reads. I read it for the 1st time when I was in my 20s and have read it several times since then. Looking forward to revisiting the gang.

Sunny | 2311 comments Finished this magical book on the 16th. Like always, when I finished, I wished Graham had written more books about these characters. He was a marvelous storyteller. I was glad when William Horwood came out with his Tales of the Willows series. I'll reread these at some point.
