The southern area of the Pitch forest between Whitehollow, West Pine, and Veinwind. It's safe enough on the surface, but get too deep in and you might not come back out.

It was just supposed to be a small trip with Elodie, take her daughter and son, Baph there for the berries in the outskirts of the forest. She was quiet, using her ears to listen to her surroundings. Almost too hard, considering she didn't notice her four year old run off. When Kimora turned to see nothing but a basket, she freaked out.
Picking up Baphmophet she got to her feet quickly, approaching the entrance of the forest with urgency. It was, afterall, too dangerous for a child of such status and looks. It didn't help that Elodie couldn't fly.

"Elle!" Kimora called softly, entering.

Elodie was quietly walking, her brown ringlets bouncing with every other step. She entered deeper into the forest, inspecting the mushrooms.

Baph pats the woman on the shoulder with his tiny hand and scans the surrounding area. He knew he was different from his sister and his mom. None of them resembled each other in the slightest. Even so, he's grown fond of the people during his time with them. He's sure Elodie will be okay. She has to be.

Grimm was seated in one of the many trees, mismatched eyes flicking over the land. He liked being up here. He'd found that if you simply sat still and watched, nature forgot your existence entirely and kept moving on. It was peaceful. Something caught his attention in the distance, breaking the trance. A young girl, just exploring. Was it safe for her out here? He hesitated just a moment, before slipping through the trees to one just above her. He didn't want to bother the child, but he could at least protect her until someone came to get her.

Elle bent over, her delicate chunky fingers examining the Mushroom plant beneath her. She pulled, spores shooting up into the air, causing her to sneeze softly. They weren"t poisonous thankfully.

Kimora entered quietly, her wings flapping as she hovered around. "Elle." She says softly, reaching a hand out. The woman had already put Baph on the sash she wore. He was secured.

noodle! (rip_myself_into_confetti) | 183 comments Baph is a being of chaos. He is never secured. The small goat quickly shimmies out of the sash and runs over to his sister. “What is this?” He pokes the mushroom, getting a similar spray of spores aimed at his face. He shakes his head, squeezing his eyes closed. “Most unpleasant.”

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Elle giggled, swatting at the spores as she handed a less spore-like mushroom to Baph. "Here, Bubby." She cooed. "Less sneezing." The female flapped her little wings, walking over to their mother.

Kimora was laughing, mostly at Baph's reaction, but also because of Elle's kindness. She picked the girl up, putting her in the small sash against her.

"If I put that mushroom in a jar, your mom will have a fit. " Kimora grinned "Sounds perfect. One rule, you have to seal it." She bent over, taking it from him and putting it into the sealed jar. She closed it, putting an arm out. "Lets go"

Grimm watched as the girl's family came into view, leaning back into the trunk of the tree. Oh, good. He was worried he'd have to get into a fight. The bears were particularly nasty on this side of the forest - they weren't in the Hold, but they were pretty close. He didn't show himself, just sat back down to observe.

Kimora picked up Baph, tucking him in the cloth. She put him there so when they flew, she didn't have to worry about him falling out. Well, at least on accident. He was constantly scrambling out every second he had the chance.
Suddenly, a deep snarling was heard from the left, snorting and panting. She turned quickly eyeing the creature. "Bear-" She squeaked, flying up into the air.

noodle! (rip_myself_into_confetti) | 183 comments Baph grabs her hand, only really able to wrap his hand around her fingers. "Are we eating dinner tonight, mother? I would like the hot cheese noodles. That would please me, mother." It should be said that Baph's voice is a toddlers. His is certainly deeper than most toddlers, but it is very recognizable as a child. He has a small lisp, and he still can't pronounce specific words, like yogurt.
He turns to look where the bear sound came from. "Maybe we should run, mother."

Grimm's gaze flicked to the bear, and his eyes widened. He jumped down from the tree, feet planting firmly between the creature and the family. Protecting them. He stared the bear down silently, unsheathing a pair of knives. Usually, you'd yell and try to make yourself look bigger, but seeing as he couldn't exactly do one of those, it would have to be a fight.

"Good Idea." She thrust up into the air further, making a small area where they could sit. "Don't move. I need to help him." She warned Baph, pulling out a chain knife. She inhaled softly, looking at the two. "Hey! Over here!~" She teased.

Honestly, it was just fun and games at this point. She hadn't had to fight in so long. And the kids wouldn't move. Elle wouldn't let Baph move, at least.

Grimm didn't realize she was coming to help. How could he? He watched the bear for a moment longer, before charging forward and attacking. He was like a blur, ducking under claws and swipes as he under the bear and stabbed up into its chest. It wasn't a killing blow, but it was definitely a start. Claws raked down the side of his arm, and he scrambled back, getting back into his stance.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

"Hey! Move back! It's chained-" Kimora flew overhead, seeing the steel chains that kept the bear in place. It was nothing more then a dog on a chain. He was protecting, no,
guarding something. "Sir! Can you hear me?" She shifted over the two waving.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Grimm very much could not hear her. The bear lunged at him again but didn't quite make it. Something snatched it back. A thick steel chain, keeping him just out of reach. He looked up at the woman overhead - oh. She was trying to say something to him. The bear kept straining to get to him, but it couldn't get any closer. He glanced back up to her, hesitating before signing, It's chained. Guarding something.

Kimora's oldest sister, Aziah, was deaf. So when Grimm signed she grinned. They'd be able to somewhat communicate. that's what I was trying to tell you. didn't know you were deaf. she motioned to the place it was chained down. Just leave it alone. It's not like... she paused, trying to think of a word it's particularly harmful

Flying up to the tree, she picked up Baph and Elle, meeting Grimm on the ground.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Grimm nodded quickly. He looked back to the bear, growling and still straining to get to him. I thought it was attacking you. Any way you can calm it down? It's cruel to just leave it chained. He was also privately curious as to what it could be guarding.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Kimora was moderately good at signing. She wasn't decent. And he? He just signed that way to quickly. She had a puzzled look as she signed Mind signing that slower? Sorry. Her hands looked shakey like she hadn't done this in a while. It was true, at least ten years. Elle cooed as Kimora set the two siblings down, looking towards the bear.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Right. He forgot sometimes that some people weren't as fast. Or that other people could hear in general. It could be worse. What if she didn't know it at all? Grimm repeated the signs, slowly this time. The bear had stopped pulling against the chain, instead pacing back and forth and growling.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

She felt so bad asking, but if they wanted to communicate, it needed to be a give and take. Kimora grinned Yeah! Sorry. It's been-- she thinks a moment ten years? Moving towards the bear, she held up a hand, squeezing it shut. The bear slumped, knocked out.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Grimm gave her an understanding nod. He watched as the bear collapsed, the moved slowly along the chain. It wasn't too long before he found where it was locked to the ground. He pulled out a slim knife and started working on picking the lock. Grimm was alright with this kind of thing, but he was no master thief. It would take him a while to get this open.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

"Babes." Kimora bent over, picking up the two. She walked around the bear, seeing the small wooden door beside a tree. Probably the hing he was guarding. She opened it, crouching down.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Grimm glanced over, still working at the lock. It was a long process, especially since he really did not want to snap this knife in half. What's in there?

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

She shrunk, suddenly, now perfect height to explore. She entered it, pulling out a bag of maps. Kimora grew to normal size, dragging the now huge bag to the nearby tree. he's going to wake up soon. she signed in warning.

dagger [ain't that a kick in the head] (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh) | 266 comments Mod

Grimm nodded quickly and continued trying to work the lock. It opened with a loud click, and he stood up to go help Kimora with the bag. He watched the bear warily - if it attacked them when it woke up, he would have to kill it.
