Xander wandered aimlessly through the room. It smelled of dust and decay. He coughed into his elbow once or twice, shaking his head with a furrowed brow.
“Does anyone ever clean this place? I mean, I guess there’s no reason to, but… still.” He huffed, the only sound in the room the echoing click of his heels against the floor.

Eira followed in behind him, scrunching up her nose at the state of the once pristine hall, her arms crossed haughtily and her stark white hair tied up in a tight high ponytail, not a hair out of place. She ran a finger against the bottom of windowsill and furrowed her brow at the distinct amount of dust on the pad of her index finger, wiping it hap-hazardly against her athletic clothes and stepping away from the windowsill. Her shiny black leather boots made a click click clacking noise as the metal ends of her shoes hit the floor with every step. "Forget the throne room, no one likes cleaning anything with memories of the late Queen since she died. Can't blame them, who wants the guilt of cleaning away the remnants of a ghost out of their home? Scares the crap out of some of the maids."
Xander plopped onto the floor, leaning against the wall and bringing his knees halfway to his chest. He closed his eyes, suppressing a yawn.
“Ghosts stay forever, Ei. Until their spirits are put to rest, y’know? It’s so cold in here. D’you think she hangs out in here? I think she does. It would make sense. I dunno. If she did, I think it would be nice to let her have a clean space.” He climbed back to his feet, realizing he’d been rambling. He wandered over to the windowsill and drew a smiley face in the dust. He stretched, flashing a smile to Eira.
“When’s our shift over? I’m hungry and I bet you’re hungry too. I’ll pay this time, I swear.”
