So, like most readers, my TBR gets out of hand sometimes. I like that I decided last year to read the book on my list that has been on there the longest without even looking at what it was--and I read both the longest-sitting fiction and non-fiction. I plan to do this again this year. IF I do the top 5 longest-sitting books I'll be up to my 2020 list additions. hmmm...might try for that, then.

Part of keeping the TBR tended and trimmed is making sure you remember what you do want to read...I just thinned out a few TBRs that I will likely never read or wasn't sure how they got on the list in the first place. Removed about 20 books from the oldest half of the list. Many of my TBR I already own but a few I don't and I'm updating which ones are available at the library and which ones I might need to purchase.

OMG! I need to quit reading the bibliography and suggested reading sections of books...I bet I've added 80 books this year!

I read the longest-sitting non-fictions (Bottleneckers and On the Wings of an Eagle) this year. Next year the longest sitting non-fic will be The Inner Life of Animals BUT the longest-sitting book is fiction: Crime and Punishment. I will either read it or remove it from my list in 2023!

In making 2023 goals I almost want to read the next book in every series I have already started. BUT I don't add whole series at once to my list so I wouldn't be getting anywhere lol
