I do need to issue a warning that The Sins of Their Fathers is MA, dark, and has multiple trigger warnings on several levels: spousal abuse, child abuse, incest, violence, etc. Just saying. The subject matter is definitely mature and not for a young reader.

I did read it and will probably read it again since it has now been published. All of the above is mentioned but not shown in explicit detail. It happens at the beginning of the story. The gist of the story is recovery and surviving for those who have been abused. It is them making a life in spite of what happened to them. I know you don't like this trope or theme in a story so I will leave it up to you to decide if you want to read it.

I read this as it posted over the weeks, and I confess, I did not even remember the incest in the story. Now, here I am, 30% in the published book and, yup, there it is -- a big honking case of incest.We don't see it when it happens, just see the girl crying after and the man leaving her room. The perpetrator gets comeuppance at once.

Not free (except to KU members) or on sale, but just released today: A Perfectly (Un)timely Proposal by Jennifer Joy. It's a wonderful mix of humor, romance, bromance (Darcy, Bingley, and Colonel Fitzwilliam), and a Great Dane puppy. I proofread it (and made some editing suggestions), but I would be urging everyone to read it even if I hadn't helped polish the final copy. My favorite read so far in 2022!

There are a few free if you sort it by price. I only got 1 new one.

When I posted all but one of her books was free to buy, but when I checked just now (7.30am UK time on Monday 28) there are 3 free on Amazon UK so maybe the prices went back up sooner than expected. I had most of them, but picked up her most recent book, so that was nice :)
