What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The book is about a boy who has to move to his cousin's house during a war. It is an older book. I remember there being something about a woman who's farm was destroyed during the war and she got reimbursed, so she wasn't struggling like all the other people and she gave the protagonist (the boy) pies and butter and stuff. There were also parts that included picking blackberries. Also, the boy was really sour about having to live with the relatives because they were poor country people and I think he was from the city. I'm pretty sure this was a Civil War fiction story. Thank you:)
