Truthfully, all I knew about it is that a few friends have recommended it - some more than once! Now I will have to start wondering about those friends . . .

Okay so I finished the book. Even though I knew I was close to the end I think it still took me by surprise when it did. So I'll wait til y'all are done.
I finished day before yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it, which feels odd since I do not remember one happy moment! Unless you count (view spoiler)
I finished this morning also. The more I think about it, the more I liked it. It was ambitious to say the least but the author focused the story well. I’ll wait to hear what the rest say.

But I think I was so busy trying to figure this one out that I wasn't sure one way or the other.
I liked it from the very beginning, but I think I liked it more not knowing what to expect, and being very surprised because this is not Matthew's normal fare.

It is interesting to think that I have "normal fare" . . . I consider this a challenge to get more outside of the box this year!! :D

I found some book questions on this and one of them was something like, what do you think the title means to the story? Anyone? 😁

I thought it was referring to the fact that it doesn't matter what skin we wear, we all have basic rights. I thought there was a bit of a vegetarian/vegan agenda implied, so even animals, which we would have considered the (view spoiler)

I know this is last month’s book but I have to ask, does anyone think this started out as a thought experiment by the author of what if dogs are aliens and the masters?

I will say that this thought did not come to mind mainly because they were (view spoiler) I suppose dogs as food happens in some countries, but since it is not a thing here I just looked at it more as (view spoiler)

And dogs are omnivores. At least on earth! If that was the thought, it should have been cats. Or something carnivorous.
