A Book & a Related Gift - GIFT GUIDE discussion

Gift: the very affordable IKEA version (Lillabo) of the Brio wooden toy train tracks and train cars, or secondhand ones if you can get them (I believe they are compatible, but don't quote me on that!)

For babies and toddlers. Would make a great first birthday gift combo. This Caldecott winning book is simple, clean and straightforward. And who doesn't love trains? (The IKEA train set, even just the basic one, is a great price for something that would bring a lot of enjoyment to little hands who like to make things go!)

I don't think Freight Train will ever go out of print. Loads of secondhand copies, since it's been in continuous print since 1978. I guess if it's a gift for a baby, a parent would probably appreciate a new copy. ;)
