Reads With Friends discussion

I started to read this last night but was extremely tired and only read 1/2 of chapter 1. Will pick it up again. Very interesting read so far.

Like you I got tired during the first chapter and fell asleep. I woke up this morning and read them. I like Elise but the first three chapters where kind of depressing. I'm sure things will get better for her though. I wonder if there is a play list for this book.

Finally finished to chap 3. So sad for Elise. Bullying is so mean. She feels so alone and everyone picks on her. It certainly can lead to suicide. Now, she's walking out at night by herself. Those 2 girls don't seem kosher. Something bad is going to happen.

Found this playlist!! I'm liking this book a lot so far but listening to the music is for sure making it a more unique experience!

I don't know why because usually I'm not very trusting of book characters, but I like these 2 girls Elise just met! Honestly, I knew a girl pretty similar to Elise in high school. She was a target and I regret not doing more to stick up for her. I was nice to her, but didn't go out of my way to befriend her. I feel like high school is all about trying to keep your head down which is so sad. She's perfectly fine now and made a lot of good friends in college. If I had to equate myself with anyone it would be Amelia and her friends although me and my friends would never force anyone to clean up after us. I feel like books like this are so important because you see the impact you have on other people. Even if you're not the bully, you could be part of the problem. If I could go back, I would be an advocate, but since I can't I hope high schoolers read this book. Wow didn't expect to write a monologue for the first 3 chapters haha. Hope the rest of the book is just as good/thought provoking!
