My Grandson read this book about 8 years ago, so circa 2014. He really wants to enjoy it again. The plot involves Earth being transported to another solar system by marauding aliens. The main character found some gloves that imbue him with special powers. Using these powers he sets off to win back Earth and return it to its rightful place. This book may be book 1 of a series which is another reason my Grandson wants to find it again - to read the rest of the story. I appreciate any help finding this book. Thanks to all.

How old was your grandson at the time (age of reader helps)? Was it a newly purchase book then, or from a library?
Thank you for your reply. He was 8 or 9 years old at the time. It was checked out from a library. We have no idea what the publication date might have been. And unfortunately, at the time we did not have book borrowing history enabled on our account in our library system. We are really stumped. I hope this information helps you identify it for us. I know the plot only is not much to go on. Thank you!
I was wondering if there might be some commonalities with this thread:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Another user is searching for a similar sounding book, and it mentions gloves as well (big yellow ones).
Does your grandson remember big yellow gloves being involved? :)
I also have a guess:The Planet Thieves
I don't know anything about it, other than it came up with a search for "gloves" and "aliens" on WorldCat.
There are multiple cover images. The link above shows one, and here is another:
other covers can be viewed here, too:

Any news, Marvin? If we haven't caught it yet, I thought I ought to mention that there's a new list for 20th Cent. Children's Sci Fi. https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1... Though if it was newish when your grandson read it, it'll probably have been published after 2000.
