Now Is Forever isn't on Goodreads, it's a seperate site dedicated to warrior roleplaying. This site is quite new. I'm thinking of joining myself but there is something you must know about this site.

Taken straight off the website as one of their last rules is:

Literacy:
This is a Literate site! If you are unable to post something of decent length with proper grammar, you will not be allowed to Roleplay. All Roleplaying posts must be at least eight complete sentences long with proper grammar, including capitals and punctuation and all those nice things. However, this being said, it is expected that you are able to write longer posts if you want to. If you have to wrack your brains in order to get out more than one measly paragraph, this site is not for you.

All roleplay lines must be 8 sentences long. If you are thinking of joining, I suggest you make a practice character using their outline by using their rules. And practice using . , ? ! " : and complete words. *cough*Mudfur*cough* (No offense, Mudfur It's a joke.)

Character Rules:
Character Biographies
When making a character, use the provided biography outlines. Because this is a literate site, the personality and appearance must be eight lines each, and the history must be three paragraphs. The only reason for a shorter history would be if you're making an apprentice or kit. The minimum history length for apprentices is two paragraphs, and for kits only one is required. Once again, don't post with your character until they've been accepted.

Character Names
For those of you who don't know, warriors names are made up of a prefix and a suffix (i.e. Greystripe, Sandstorm, Brackenfur). The names of kits end in the suffix 'kit' (i.e. Cloudkit, Bramblekit), the names of apprentices end in the suffix 'paw' (i.e. Cinderpaw, Thornpaw), and the names of leaders end in the suffix 'star' (i.e. Firestar, Bluestar). Warrior names can't have the word 'star' in them, because only leaders are allowed to have star in their names, and the cannot have 'moon' in their names because the moon is sacred to StarClan. However, though some people insist that 'sun' is also sacred, the Clans' religion really has more to do with the night, moon and stars, and the sun isn't ever really mentioned as being particularly special, so 'sun' in names will be allowed. In addition, cats can't have human objects or concepts (i.e. 'mask', 'dance', 'bell') in their names because cats wouldn't know what those are.

Also, keep in mind when you are naming your cat that they received the first part of their name, the prefix, within a week of being born. That means when they got their prefix their eyes were still closed (or if they were named late, their eyes were still kit-blue), they couldn't walk yet, and they couldn't do much besides sleep and eat. They couldn't even poop on their own. So, keeping that in mind, the first part of a kit's name is probably going to relate to their build, size, or the colour of their fur. Anything else simply doesn't make any sense. You can go here to understand the mechanics of naming a little better, here for a little more detail on prefixes, here for a little more detail on suffixes, and here to see just what isn't acceptable as a warrior name. For a list of acceptable prefixes and suffixes, go here. By no means does this list cover all acceptable names, but it does cover most of them.

Cat History
I shouldn't have to say this... but keep your cat's history realistic. We can't have multiple cats in each Clan that came from being kittypets or loners. One or two in each Clan is fine, but when it comes to be more than that, it's unrealistic. It makes you wonder: if all of these cats came from outside the Clan, where were the Clan cats in the first place?

I've also noticed that most of the biographies for these cats are the same. "So-and-so was found outside xClan's camp, less than a moon old and barely alive, and was nursed back to health by the medicine cat. They then became a Clan cat." Honestly, they're boring and not that creative. So please, only have a non-clanborn cat if you must.

Cat Appearance and Genetics
Finally, on the topic of character appearances: your cat should not be purple, nor should it be blue. Despite the fact that we have cats receiving nine lives and talking, this RP is supposed to be somewhat realistic, and there shouldn't be any cats that aren't able to exist. That means: No solid black cats with blue eyes. Completely black cats cannot have blue eyes. No violet eyes. Violet-eyed cats are even rarer than tortie toms, and since we don't have thousands of cats in the Clans, don't you think it's a little unreasonable for there to be cats that rare wandering around?

No tortoiseshell toms. For those who don't know, a tortoiseshell cat is usually black and orange, but can be grey and cream or orange and brown. They may also have some white on them, and might have the colours mixed seamlessly together instead of in patches. The tortoiseshell colouring requires two X genes, so XY tom cats are unable to possess it. There is a rare one in a thousand mutation that causes a tom to be XXY, but such cats are usually sterile and have poor immune systems, making it virtually impossible for them to live in the wild.

Warrior Outline:
Name: The name of your cat
Age: Age of your cat. Usually around 14 moons and up.
Gender: She-cat or tom?
Clan: Clan that your cat is in.
Apprentice: If given
Rank: Warrior
Mate/Crush: Any?
Kin: Mother, Father, Siblings, etc.
Description: Has to be at least 8 lines long. (I'd prefer a couple paragraphs..)
Personality: Has to be at least 8 lines long. (I'd prefer a couple paragraphs..)
History: From kithood to warriorhood? 3 paragraphs at the least?
Roleplay example: Only mandatory for your first cat.
Other: Anything else that you wanna say about your cat?

That form explains what they require.

So if you see my posts getting a bit longer, now you know why. As one guy put it from another site:

Hey guys. This isn't a roleplay; it's a guide on making one. I think this section needs it, no offense to anyone. But when you post a long and detailed post, you expect someone to do it back, right? And when they post a single sentence, doesn't it get on your nerves? It does mine. Everyone should aim for at least ten lines when roleplaying. Here we go. I'm starting with the basics: Grammar.

Grammar is very, very important, no matter how boring you think it is. No one will ever understand you if you don't use proper grammar. Grammar isn't even that hard. All you have to do is capitalize the first letter of each sentence, put quotation marks when someone's speaking and put a period at the end. Is that so hard? I thought not. Please, please use proper grammar. People will respect you that way, not to mention understand what you're saying.

Now, let's get to the actual roleplaying.

Replying. Let's say the poster above you is huntingDo not, under any circumstances, do this:

"Hi," Cat1 said.

No! No one wants to post a detailed post and read that in response! Instead of doing that, write down your character's feelings. What were they thinking? Were they impressed at what the poster above them did? Not impressed? Worse?

Impressive, Cat1 thought as Cat2 killed the mouse swiftly. She dipped her head and padded forward. "Hi."

Better, but still not ten lines. Let's include some backstory. Maybe a memory? Or we could include some more thoughts. Maybe even a few movements the character does without realizing it.

Impressive, Cat1 thought as Cat2 killed the mouse swiftly. But it'll take more than that to feed the Clan. She swished her tail, remembering the day she had taken down her own first prey. The thrill of hunting had followed her ever since, even now. She dipped her head to Cat2 and walked forward. "Hi."

That's a lot better than just saying hi, no? But it's still not ten lines yet. Let's include some more things. What about the setting? Sounds? Feelings? Anything else that might be interesting to the reader?

Impressive, Cat1 thought as Cat2 killed the mouse swiftly. But it'll take more than that to feed the Clan. A bird called in the distance, and wind swept the sand as Cat2 looked over his catch proudly. She swished her tail, remembering the day she had taken down her own first prey. The thrill of hunting had followed ever since, even now. Dipping her head, she walked forward, the sand crunching beneath her feet and wearing down her tired paws. "Hi."

Now we're getting somewhere, right? However, it's still not ten lines yet. Think of how you feel in real life. In real life, you don't just say hi. You have feelings and emotions, thoughts that run through your head, images of the person. Incorporate that into your post.

Impressive, Cat1 thought as Cat2 killed the moouse swiftly. But it'll take more than that to feed the Clan. A bird called in the distance, and wind swept the sand as Cat2 looked over his catch proudly. She swished her tail, remembering the day she had taken down her own first prey. The thrill of hunting had followed ever since, even now. Looking at his eyes sparkle at his newly caught prey, she felt a pang of envy. She wished that she was as young as he, being able to run in the wind and worry about nothing. However, she was beyond those times, and she was content being her age, herself. She never was carefree, always weighed down with something. But now those days were over. Dipping her head, she walked forward, the sand crunching beneath her feet and wearing down her tired paws. "Hi."

See? See how we put the character into the post, instead of simply saying hi? We told that Cat1 was an old but respected member of the Clan, maybe a bit prickly at times, but definitely wise. Critical of his catch, but easing up as she remembered her own first catch. Nostalgic about earlier times. Wouldn't you rather read that than "hi"? Yes? Good, because that's the reason I wrote this guide. Remember that the above post was really the bare minimum, and you can play with your characters and your posts as you wish. Happy roleplaying.

So if you want, here's the site:

Good luck and wish me well too! And if you do sign up, tell the person called Phoenix that you're one of Sam's Goodread's friends. She's one of my friends in real life. She's thinking of joining Goodreads so persuade her! And If you guys want, I'll show you a practice leader character I've been working on just to get the feel of the site. Let me know if you want any of the other outlines too.

wow that's a lot. i agree posts should be detailed, but i think a minimum of 10 lines is unreasonable
