Dawn | 6 comments Hi everyone, what is the best book you would recommend to someone for their next read? I recommend Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carrey.
Let me know!

Indy | 5 comments Thanks for getting the conversation started, Dawn! I'd recommend Sacré Bleu by Christopher Moore. If you're not familiar with Christopher Moore, I'd describe him as a comedy writer with a mystical horror bent. Sacré Bleu uses some of the great impressionist painters as main characters. It's been almost 10 years since I read it and I still think about some of the facts and bits about painting included in the story when watching art documentaries.

Lauren | 1 comments Hellooo. So I'm not sure what your preferred genre is so I'll just recommend the last book that I quite enjoyed and that's The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. It's become quite popular lately so I picked it up when it was on sale and was pleasantly surprised. It's a quick and easy read if you're looking for something you can finish in a couple of days. It's also a fairly accurate retelling if you're interested in Greek mythology.

Dawn | 6 comments Thanks Lauren! I love Greek mythology!
I'm a huge fan of The Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer!

Rachel Veltman | 3 comments The Kushiel series is fabulous!

For fantasy, I would recommend A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne, and the Broken Earth series by NK Jemisin (a bit more Sci-fi but really fascinating).

Ann | 6 comments For an escape I read a lot of gay romance. I have a lot that I just loved but one book I read recently stuck with me. Lily Morton's On a Midnight Clear. The book cover is gorgeous as well. Her books are often hilarious and I love the snark and banter. This book was sweet and I found it beautiful.

Rachel Veltman | 3 comments Ann - that book cover IS gorgeous. 😍 I bought it, so umm, now Kindle has moved my recs from paranormal romance to gay historical romance. I don't mind! 😛 Escape is escape.

I enjoyed the book and the cover is so beautiful. I really like the author but the cover is what drew me in. I hope you enjoy it. I grew up reading MF romance books. Didn't like contemporary because I couldn't relate to the characters. I have found over the past couple of years that I prefer MM romance books. No need for me to compare myself to either character. I have learned a lot about myself and the world since making the switch. I do read MF books on occasion still.
