Hi, all. I have a new book coming out in May. It's set in Mandate Palestine 1920-48 and includes characters from two of my previous novels, RIVKA'S WAR and NOVEMBER TO JULY. This one is called THIS STORIED LAND, and believe me, you'll be hearing more about it! For now, I'm wondering whether anyone has suggestions for finding good, responsible, free reviews.

Hi Marilyn. You can sign up for a Goodreads giveaway. For $100 you can giveaway 100 Kindle books and ask for an impartial review. Amazon forwards the Kindle book to each of the 100 winners and you do not pay for copies - just the $100 giveaway fee. Hopefully that should generate some reviews. Click on your author icon and then select "List a Giveaway" and it will give you the information. You can even do it pre-publication.Allan Goodman

Hi Marilyn, I'm in a Hadassah Book Group who may be willing to read and review your new book. Is this book a series continued from your previous books? I looked at your other books. Do they only come in a kindle format?

Thanks, Alan. Good suggestions.

Hi, Shira. What a great idea! I didn’t set out to write a trilogy, and each book stands on its own. However, the characters do have back stories from the previous books. THIS STORIED LAND will be available in paperback. Publication date is May 5. I can order review copies before that, or provide a PDF.
My Hadassah book group is basically only older ladies... It's possible that one woman has a kindle, but all of the rest of us are still reading book formats. I'd be more than happy to review your book privately with you and then if you like my review, I'd post it. Do you want me to ask the group if anyone else is interested?
Shira wrote: "I would want to read the back stories first. I love that"Why don’t I stick with you first, and then if there’s someone you think would enjoy it, we can go from there. It’s probably time to take this discussion off the group posts. You can email me at marilynoser@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest.

I also have a dedicated Bookstagram Account (ReadinginJerusalem) that highlights jewish books as well. Happy to give you a review in both places.

Yes. It is a good promotion. Several weeks after the giveaway ends, Goodreads sends an email to the winners suggesting they write reviews. I have a giveaway for my book starting tomorrow, March 1.

Good luck with your giveaway. _Father, Son, Stone?
Yes, Father, Son, Stone. I did several print giveaways previously of 20 copies, but had to send out the books myself, which is costly and time consuming. With 100 Kindles for $100, with the kindle copies automatically sent by Amazon, this seems to be the least labor intensive, most cost effective method to generate exposure and reviews.
Another method I use to generate interest was to google synagogue websites and find an email address of the synagogue book club moderator, if there is a book club. I then send an email introducing myself and the book, with a link to the Amazon page, and an offer to send a free copy. I received quite a few requests for copies, which then generated further sales. In several instances, I was asked to attend the book club on Facetime or Zoom after they chose my book.

Another great idea. Thanks.
I also googled Jewish book club/group [actually I hired my teenage grandson to do it] and produced a spreadsheet of 176 entrees. I got some interest in my speaking to the book group by zoom, but that was months before The Choice: A Novel of Love, Faith and The Talmud was up on Amazon. I intend to do the $100 Goodreads e-book Giveaway, but now [thanks to your advice] I will email those book group leaders again and offer a free advanced copy.
