I grabbed this one from our little free library with the intentions on reading it *eventually* lol. If no one jumps in here, maybe I'll push it up my list.
I read it. I liked it. I passed it to a friend that liked it. I learned a lot about logging. I loved the setting.

For anyone who is, it does fit well for many 2022 ATY prompts including Earth Day, Flora & Fauna (on both sides), near a body of water, historical fiction, no person on the cover, inclement weather (if you count rain induced mud slides as that), 440+ pages (literally 442 pages), and small town/rural area.
(view spoiler)[What the heck was that ending?! First, you get Chub almost dying when Wyatt pushes him into the creek. Then, you get Rich's death in a car accident after his highest point in the book. Along the way, Davidson talks about how he's "old" compared to other loggers and his own forefathers who all have died young DUE TO LOGGING. So he's finally out of the logging business, finally redeemed himself in many ways, and then you kill him? It just seems like an unnecessary way to wrap up a book.
And more minor that these other issues: the inexplicable fact of the loan being paid off in full because "shit pays." Way too deus ex machina. (hide spoiler)]
